Sounds like you might have some junk clogging up the fuel pickup in the tank. When you blow it out with air, the junk moves away from the pickup for a little while til it clogs back up again.
Put the aux tank in the bed and run a temp fuel line to the filter, prime the line and run it home til...
I had talked to Chris already and volunteered to help with the classifieds any way I can. Its a pet peeve of mine to see some things in there that should not be.
First of all, if you want to sell it, I need some parts.
Second - Pro's - don't need to wait til the engine warms up for hot air/defrost, no separate fuel tank - it should draw off of one of the main tanks.
Cons - little more complicated, more parts and stuff to go wrong.
Basically it has...
Hey Mike,
Don't know if Chris talked to you yet, but I will help out however I can with the classifieds. Its one of my pet peeves to see "wrong ads" or "misuse" in there.
hope I can help ya out!
Reliable? Yes for a 40+ year old trucks. You are not gonna find any better gears for these axles. As said above, 53" tires will suck the power out of your Cummins. Also think about braking at those speeds, these trucks do not have anti lock brakes or discs either.
Under the resources tab up top, look under tech manuals for the multi fuel operator guide and the LDS trouble shooting manual. They will explain what you need to know

He is the one I got my towbar from a few years ago, he might have some more. He also had a lot of deuce parts.
MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE THEN MEASURE AGAIN!!! Don't cut anything unless you are positive you need to cut it.
Are you keeping the transmission or swapping in a different one? Check out mudguppy's thread on here about his swap.
I need a bunch of plates for my wrecker but I am hesitant to buy from someone who has less than stellar reputation on here. I see that he was on site at 9 am today.
Yep, that is the perfect military trailer, I think. I have tried to get one of those to haul my rock crawler for awhile now. I think they will do just fine as long as your vehicle is under 19' wheel base!
I bought the manual shut off valve from Boyce a year or so ago, wasn't cheap though.
You could probably reposition the electric valve up a little to provide better access by adding some tubing.
The M39 series of 5 ton trucks share the cab with the M35A2 so most of those parts will swap over. The 5 ton multi fuel engine (LDS) is basically the same as the M35A2 multi fuel so alot of parts will interchange also. Axles and brakes are different.
There are many many M35A2 parts out there...
One thing to think about with the 1.5" to 1" adapters - not just reducing the inside diameter of the hole but checking on the "thiickness" of the feet so the holes line up. I am talking about the bottom part that sits on the bumper. I think on the larger feet, that area is bigger so the holes...
