Dano- what the heck was that toy called?
Danger ranger-my father in law has suggested that I mount up my spare 9.00's in exactly the same manner you prescribe, before I leave to go have fun. I could see some heads turning on that one. Sounds kinda like a Bill Ingvall joke about a flat tire...
ruth-yes, there would be some type of bar that extended out from the rim. After looking at Danger Ranger's picture (thanks for digging up the picture!) I'm thinking that one bar--providing two traction points--may be insufficient to effectively dig myself out. My revised idea would be to...
I've been studying on taking some spare duece rims and welding something up that would allow for ultimate traction capability, in the event that I get bogged down and stuck.
It would need to be a one- to two-man operation of installing the modded rims on the outside of a singled out tire, to...
here's a great thread that recently opened up on that very subject: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/69041-mounting-tires.html
read the thread thoroughly, I don't think you'll go wrong with it.
Good luck!
i was thinking about the false alarms as well, perhaps you would have to rig the alarm so that both of the rear wheels would have to start to hang. so, when you have 2 open circuits on one side, the alarm goes off.
I'm basing this design on the logic that under normal off-roading conditions...
Here's a thought, it could be completely dumb and non-functional, but here goes: how about a rollover warning sensor? rig it up to go off when there is very little pressure/weight being placed on one side of the truck. Unless you're running a Nascar circuit, you would want to rig up a system on...
anyway you can rig up a timer to it? I wonder if you would fry one of those 24 hour timers that a bunch of people use for patio lights and christmas lights.
original post is somewhat confusing. However, I did a search for Red Barn Customs, and came up with this: Red Barn Customs, 2.5 Ton Rockwell Axles, Mud Boggers, CNC Plasma Cut, Yale Mich
A shot in the dark, the prices which the OP refers to are $200-$250.
I'm guessing here, so I could be wrong.
if you have a busted up old car that hasn't seen a tune-up since the day it was new, you might notice that it doesn't quite shut off when you turn off the key. Ca-clunk, ca-clunk....shudder, ca-clunk. That's because it's dieseling. It's still burning fuel without an electric ignition source...
You're right. I wonder if that's why lil angry's seller told him to get lost, because he sold it 5 minutes beforehand.
They don't have to know why they can't have the truck, they just have to...leave.
I don't think the argument would be made in the original post (through questions) as much as it could have been made in successive posts. A short time back a guy wanted to swap his old jeep for a duece, and allegedly struck the seller after being refused a sale (thread titled "lil' angry"). Do...
I guess you can't control exactly what others do when they're in another vehicle, even if you notoriously micro-manage others.
Next time you'll know to make them pull driving duty on the way over there. At least that way you'll be rested when you get there (stay away from the caffeine! Let the...
