Thank you! (Wet sandblasting planned as well)
Ospho... or many other phosphoric acid solutions ... should work to phosphate the surface in preparation for paint. In theory. Maybe...
I can't wait to see your tests!
You might also want to check into a torque multiplier. Some guys I know in excavating swear by them.

I like that solution...
Or if you wanted to get really slick you could make a side vented sleeve that slid "up" when exhaust pressure lifted it and exposed an opening()s. Gravity would close it and wind couldn't lift it.(maybe a tornado) You would probably want stainless to prevent it rusting...
American Surplus Salvage in Kalamazoo is the same... The US Marshals own the trucks now, and nobody is guarding anything. All the batteries, cables, and copper is being stripped by the crackheads.
By the time they get to auction they won't be worth anything but scrap.
Odd idea... and this may be silly... but I seem to remember seeing a set of unsprung rollers on a skidplate structure used to assist with high centering on an APC. (Russian I think) I can't for the life of me remember what type to find a picture.
We don't rock-crawl around these parts... the...
Zincs.... just like a saltwater boat. Rusty metal primer over cleaned and prepped bare steel (if you take it down that far.) and a good quality paint over the top. Google cathodic protection. Same physics as galvanization.

I like to set goals. Modest, achievable ones, and more difficult ones. It gives me a target to aim for, and a yardstick to measure how my plans are working.
I have a lot of work to do related to other projects, I need a truck capable of hauling, getting into nasty places, and one that won't be...
I think that was a prop truck built and sold last year. The sides are thin sheet folded over the 1x2 frame.
It ended up painted desert tan IIRC.
I actually like the idea of the SUV body... and I can understand the desire for armor. Have you considered selective armor INSIDE A-10 fashion...
On a side note... Building an SUV/deuce that LOOKED like a full on APC/MRAP might be a very interesting idea. (It has been done for prop trucks, just not in a pretty way)
A. You could do it with foam/thin wood/fiber cloth/thin sheet metal, laid up to any shape you want without breaking the...
Here... get an idea of the costs and coverage area for various small arms armor. They even sell used halves of vests you can play with and possibly laminate into door panels... Have fun guys.

As a side note... if you need an...
If I had to guess why SS was targeted... the initials "SS."
There are a few golden tickets people love to brag about hacking... nailing Fred Phelps, Scientology, pedophiles, governments, banks, and white supremacists.
All in all, I don't have a problem with that.
I think the reality of what...
As hacks go... that was friendly.
The person who did it was gentle, and aside from stating/promoting his agenda, didn't get too nasty.
They will, without a doubt be reading this as we dust ourselves off.
Had they wished to be nasty, or had they (if it was actually an ANON related hack...
I was waaaaayyyy off when I wrote that.
The M35A2 uses the airpack to directly boost fluid pressure. One would be required for each circuit and a two port MC with divorced pressure zones.
Running hydroboost with a single booster is possible, but that would require the MC be able to move...
I think the pump is a weaker link in the modification chain than the gearbox. The 5ton multifuel pumps seem to be like hens teeth. To do a belt driven would require a double belt pulley and a design that wouldn't limit belt contact on anything else in the system. I just don't think a cheap...

That's just a grown-up version of the system ford used in the 1960's on passenger cars. Interesting....

Sweet Manufacturing is two blocks from where I'm sitting. I never even considered stopping by to bother Randy and ask his opinion.
What I was actually talking about was...
The best I have seen is the "Gringletaube" design retrofit box. Also there are a few full hydro trucks out there, as well as a hydraulic ram assist that sticks an orbital valve on the steering shaft and a ram on the centerlink.
Didn't one of the big guys have a kit out as well... Saturn or...
