The frame rails are all the same on the rear. There are a few threads on here about installing a receiver hitch( Curtis?) that will let you pull a regular car trailer.
Looks nice but its gonna be slow going towing anything. The non turbo diesel exhausts out the rear/back and is alot quieter...
The engine should be an LDS-465, not an LDT. The LDS has a little more power but essentially the same engine, just a souped up version. I can't recall off of the top of my head what number the overdrive transmission is, but its on here if you search for it.

Question: On the start switch, does it go through a circuit breaker? If so, what size/type?
My M54A2 wiring is not so good around that area on the firewall and its missing one or two circuit breakers and I think one goes to my start switch wiring.
If you could as a favor to me, please take a few pictures of the engine compartment drivers side firewall? I have a M54A2 also and my wiring is a little messed up in that area.

That winch is not an original winch for a M54, not sure where that one came from.
The 5 ton cargo trucks with winches did not have tensioners on top, just the wreckers had the top tensioners.
