Yeah when he mentioned this and when I saw where he was you were the 1st one to pop into my mind but I did not want to throw your name out there not knowing how many projects you may already have going on.
On second note to the poster, if you have seen Soni's M920 (and if not do a search) you...
I may have missed the answer to this question in a previous post so forgive me if I did. Are you going to isolate each airbag independently for fill and dump or are you going to run both rears on one valve? To answer you question about ride height it is all in how you want it, you can set the...
Yeah I agree with the above, depending on what battery tray you have you may have to cut out 4 little nubs to make them lay flat but these are the biggest battery you can fit x4 in there. Group 31 tp (top post) is what I run with great success. don't waste your money on 6tl's.
N14
Hi Justin, the N14 is the last generation of the cummins 855 that the 5 tons already come with. The N14 was computer controlled and went up to 600 hp in some models. Almost a direct replacement fitment wise the the exception of the intercooler computer stuff etc.
Eldgen.
oh yeah, plenty of wheelbase. Looks good and good luck with the swap, if you run into any problems you can give me a yell if you need to. Judging by your truck you are plenty capable. How many acres do you need to complete a U turn?
your correct, I got a little ahead of myself, what I meant is you could make it a bitchen pre runner or 4x4 clone. I would keep the length the same and relocate the rear axle to split the difference between them and enjoy.
on another thought, again you have not mentioned your use for the truck so I am just digging. If you are not hauling big trailers I would even go as far as to ditch one of the rear axles and make it a 4x4. If you do end up leveling the suspension you should be able to fit 14.00 r 20's under it...
Yeah Soni's truck is in a whole other league of its own, I would have to cash out the kids college fund to even build something close to what he has accomplished, two big thumbs up Soni. By the way, what is that visor off of? or did you make it yourself?
I would think the 1st thing I would do...
I think the front housing is plenty strong, I have also witnessed what you are talking about for a friend with a deuce axle in Oregon who jumps it at the dunes, he used 3/8" plate and never had a problem with it, very solid. Do you want to let us in on what engine/tranny combo you are planning...
I would think that the stock radiator should be fine, I have repowered a 813 before with a 400 cummins bcIII turned up to 475 and flogged the snot out of it a few times with no overheating problems, the only thing she did not like was high idle sitting still, never overheated but the fan came on...
as of yet I have not, that is going to part of phase 2 when I fabricate up the hydraulics. I can say however that I had close to 10k in it last night and it did not even flinch, I would not be real worried about it even un-reinforced.
Dump hinges Done
Well I have finally completed the hinges for the dump bed, did a heavy load last night (sorry no video, did it in the dark and it would not have turned out) and it worked flawlessly. I will say that it is quite the operation to get everything set up to dump with the crane but...
Yeah I had looked at that option, we have them over here in Cali all the time but neither of the two crane options that came on the trailer had the capacity or reach that I was looking for, those are wayjax cranes on bother of the mk17 trailers. My crane has a 38ft reach with 14500 max lift...
so and update, I was not able to get the front end to engage for anything which resulted in one stuck requiring to winch it out with my deuce and one near stuck with no support. Come to find out after talking with Soni that the air lines going into the lock, unlock diaphragm were reversed so...
Yeah I would agree but when it comes down too it this will only see minimal at best off road, nothing like what I do in the deuces etc. If I were to get stuck and needed to back out I could use the crane as an oversized come a long and pull my self out 38' at a time, the front winch would be...
Yeah that is a good idea, I am looking for a good 5 ton front winch (will consider part trade for the winch or tag axle I took off) to mount on the front of the truck, I will make a custom winch bumper and convert it to hydraulic with the controls in the cab. I am also looking for an eaton...
