Sounds like it will need axle shafts joints, steering damper, and transfer case work. It could be simple as low fluid level in the tcase.
I wouldn't spend over 1500 or so and be ready for a few days work if competent.
nopics
Started the bottom truck in my sig. New gp. Lots of white smoke on startup from pass side exhaust. Cleared up after idle
Moved it up and down the driveway, brake are mush and steering is awful, i bet axle shaft ujoints are toast.
Radiator was nasty, full of green and brown with some sandy...
Nobody mentioned the starter bracket?
Make sure you have the brace on the end of the starter, mine was loose and ended up destroying my flexplate.
That one little spot will get bigger and bigger, you need to replace the flexplate
Or go to manual, like a sm465 will bolt right in place :)
That sounds awesome, i have bunches of tools with useless batteries.
Have any pictures of this and is it really that easy to do? Just split the case and wire it to the slave cable?
**** **** **** **** I spoke too soon. Yesterday i had removed 5 of the stuck ones.
Today I worked on the last 2, and on the final one only half a glow plug came out
I thought this tool was going to prevent this, but still one gp ended up in the head.
I had the tool on right and did not wiggle...
I got the tool today. It really helped with the 7 swollen glow plugs i found.
None broke which was good cause i didn't feel like fishing.
Wouldnt do it any other way, cost is high but i expect i'll have it for many truck

Did you see these in the classifieds?
I love making things though and im sure you could get some info from him on making your own
I have a Tekonsha Prodigy
I bought all the wiring i needed from my auto parts store(t connector, 7 pin plug, 14 guage wire)
I have only used it once but i didnt want to cheap out on something so important. It works great and is really easy to set and use.
Your vacuum is way to low. It should be 20" at the pump and 8" at the transmission i believe
I only know that because it has been posted here a bunch.
I just found it in the tm's, -20 page 198. Transmission Vacuum valve replacement
Use the manuals!!!!
Nice truck
I did the same thing yesterday with my m1008 and a second non running m1008. The po claims it just stopped running, but i found the pink ip wire hooked to the wrong thing
And you never can have too many trucks around
