It is my understanding that the "cup"... actually the combustion chamber has a flame present at very odd times, or at least enough heat/time to ignite BEFORE normal diesel ignition would take place. The heat is transferred to the liquid via conduction from the wall, and the surface of the puddle...
I'm just amazed how many of these are turning 4000+rpm on a regular basis with high loads. It makes me feel better about some things I have heard about these things exploding if the smoke-screw gets looked at wrong.
That's right... White used a variation of these engines as diesels, didn't they?
I'm seriously just shooting the breeze about combustion theory inside these engines, I'm not making plans or anything of the sort.
As for Pure propane etc... the engine won't do it. There is no ignition without...
I'm not advising ANYONE do this. It's just a logic problem of what is possible, and a fleshing out of what the differences are between a hypercycle and a diesel.
Just nerd fun.
The reason Meth/propane doesn't work is the presence of flame in the cylinder at such an early stage of the cycle. It would seem that ANY combustibles in the air charge would be subject to ignition/PRE-ignition. From what I have learned, unlike a normal diesel, hypercycle engines are considered...
This is more of a question than an answer.
If people want the efficiency and power output of a modern diesel, and already have a functional multifuel, why not simply swap injectors and re-time the engine to do so?
Swapping entire engines and support systems seems a bit extreme in many cases...
Sound silly? Sort of. But follow this cold Sunday musing...
These engines are multi-fuel hypercycles. The fuel is injected as a liquid onto the wall/cup of the piston VERY early in the cycle and is on fire the whole time,
"Diesel" engines inject fuel as a mist at the point of ignition and it...
Just a note...
Carb cleaners are better solvents for petroleum based contaminants. BUT they do contain a lubricant. Which makes sense considering the moving parts it's designed to clean.
Brake parts cleaners can have a hard time cutting varnish/cosmoline but leave NO residue. Pyroil 6004 was...
And the guy paying the bandwidth tab on this site we all love and use isn't any richer than any of us these days.
People are doing less for "Free"... (Nothing is ever free. TANSTAAFL)... because they CAN'T.
I'm in Michigan, we started going down in 2000... never recovered.. and what was left...
That's my opinion as well.
Wolverine is a member and has a great reputation. But they all seem a bit salty for what they are. $1000 is a bit much for a large juicer IMHO, but nobody sells them much cheaper, and you would spend almost as much paying someone else to build it for you from scratch.
NOOOOO!!!!!
You don't want leverage!!! You'll make history with the rings and maybe a rod or a valve depending upon what's wrong! If you just want to say "Screw it" drag it behind the tractor and dump the clutch.
The oil/detergent/lubes are cleaning out the rust and freeing the engine to...
I have noticed there seems to be very few differences in the designs of all of these. Cup, self drain holes, double cup body, top feed.
Unless there is a massive difference in motors, I'm getting a 6 one vs Half-a-dozen the other feeling.
Marvel works. I have also used ATF, and pulled the accessory belts off and checked clutches and found out the engine wasn't the locked up part.
Most of my experience has been on cars. It might be nothing big.
Good luck!
10% is safe in your experience.
Awesome! I know the freezing points... I will probably empty the system when not in use for a few days anyway, but it's nice to know how much meth I can run safely. 3 months out of the year I need to keep it dry, or put a bottle blanket on it.
Thank you!
I was wondering what % methanol you run in your truck, and what effects you have seen over time. Is your water freezing?
Nice install! I am seriously jealous of that winch.
The Israelis have a similar system for burning optics. I forget the name and my google luck seems to be gone. I know one is aircraft mounted and designed to destroy optics on IR missiles.
The Navy/Air Force has a few new FEL toys that are quite impressive. ABL has languished because the...
All we need is a guy with a very large stamping press and some steel... Build a 3 piece design like the old BBS rims we ran on the Porche.
2-3 pressing operations to shape the blanks, 3 lathe operations to true, and 3 milling operations to do the holes... for each rim.
But, if you designed it...
