What are you using for a 24Volt trickle charger?

If you really want to just do 24V through the slave port, and can find a decent 24V charger, all you need to adapt it to the slave port is one of these: https://graywacke.net/product/geislv-sr/ My personal recommendation though, is to charge each battery individually with 12V rather than...

What are you using for a 24Volt trickle charger?

NO.CO makes some pretty decent onboard chargers. https://no.co/gen5x2 or non-permanent type https://no.co/genius2x2 They used to sell some smaller 12/24V chargers, but now the only 24V capable ones I see are around $500 and up, so unrealistic when you can use a pair of 12V maintainers at...

Tunnel by emergency brake gets hot to the touch

The exhaust pipe runs on the other side of that tunnel. It getting hot is normal. Newer trucks have better insulation, but still gets warm. I remember in the Army it felt like my leg was going to burn if I let it rest against the tunnel too long in an earlier version truck.

    Short flag mounts for M1123

I took a 10 foot steel conduit, cut it in half to make two 5 foot sections. Measured out how far apart the eyelets on the flag are. Drilled holes and installed some 1/4" eyelets through the conduit. (I used nylocks to secure them) Inserted them into brackets on truck, and marked just below...

    Short flag mounts for M1123

if your avatar is how you have the truck set up, then using 3/4" conduit in the loops on the troop seats should work just fine.

    Hmmwv problem starting

also, is this one of those regional type sayings? Cranking an engine, in definition, the same thing as turning over the engine. I always get confused when people talk about cranking it, then it finally turning over. Apparently, in local colloquialism, what they mean is they cranked it and it...

Question on Gov planet process - What's a realistic timeframe for first time EUC's right now?, etc.

I took my payment information to my local DMV when registering; they took that amount off of the local sales tax I had to pay when registering my truck, so in the end for me it wouldn't matter.

Mile Marker 10,500lb Hydraulic Winch ECV Front Winch Plate HMMWV M1151

I don't believe that it is a second opening, just that the guide roller is offset to the bottom of the opening. The extensions WILL make it easier to access the clutch release lever. The milemarker plate doesn't require an extension in order to reach the clutch lever on the winch, but the...

Mile Marker 10,500lb Hydraulic Winch ECV Front Winch Plate HMMWV M1151

My truck started out with the same A2 winch plate as you have. From my understanding I could have just used it with the winch, but with how the brackets are set up I'd really need to put the bumper extensions to install it properly and to be able to reach the clutch lever. There always seems...

    12v outlet

if putting on the rear battery, you need the fuse on just the positive. If putting on the forward battery, you need fuses on both the positive AND the negative wires, as close to the battery as possible.

    12v outlet

placing that small of a load on either battery shouldn't be much of an issue in the short term. In the long term it can contribute to imbalance issues, but if you either swap your batteries front/rear every month or so, or put a 12V charger on each of them just as often to do an equalizing...

    12v outlet

If it is the 60 amp system, there is nothing on the rear to prevent imbalance either. I think what is being said here is with the 60 amp setup, due to resistances of series loads and whatnot, the front battery always ends up with higher charge than the rear over time, so would placing a very...

    Trailer mounted temp ground?

I'm a bit late to this party. I've been one of those people bit by a trailer mounted gen out in the field. Not bad enough for injury, but enough that I insisted the medics check me out. So for the RVs not being grounded, part of it has to do with the load being contained within the same...

What wheels are on your humvee?

16-20 ounces should be plenty. You just need enough to compensate for however much out of balance the tires are. Too much isn't going to hurt anything, just adds extra unsprung weight.

What's the difference between the m1114 and m1123?

M1123 is a third generation HMMWV, and the M1114 is an ECV so that makes it 4th generation. The roof setup is apparently unique to those trucks as well (it's wider I think?)

Help identify this single axle fifth wheel trailer - IDENTIFIED Laguna FTT trailer

only one I am familiar with is the Golden Eagle trailer, which looks different than that one. http://ftnews.firetrench.com/2008/07/silver-eagle-releases-new-fifth-wheel-tactical-trailer-for-hmmwv-use/

MEP-803A for 5 ton AC with soft start?

You definitely need the soft start kit for that, but it should work no problem. So for comparison (not a direct comparison I know), I have a 3 ton ECU (aircon/heater) that's surplus military. The aircon starts and operates fine with my MEP-802A, and only draws about 60% load. Startup surge is...

Shocktober wow's with Wolfer Parts or is it?

Wolfer has been in the business, selling cheap chinese parts with high failure rates, for a very long time. I can't find the posts, but I remember years ago reading about a company selling turbo "upgrade" kits for pickup trucks or cars or something like that, that were failing because they were...

Anyone need a 114" serpentine belt?

okay, looking at the pictures, you have the Pre 196900 belt setup. That is what I was trying to figure out when asking you about the idler between the generator and power steering pump. I guess I wasn't specific enough. See diagram below (red circle X) So the part number I linked for you...
