I agree. Anyone who would knowingly violate a government contract and potentially put the lives of our soldiers at risk, just to make a buck, wouldn't think twice about doing it to the general public.
part of it also depends on where it is used.
Some place with a lot of rain or whatnot, lubrication is good, especially if it sits a lot not being used.
Somewhere dusty/sandy like the desert, some surfaces are better off not being lubricated with grease because it will stick to the sand and...
if 112 is too long, then the one I linked from HPG will be much too long. It's in the 126 inch range if I remember correctly. Either that or you are somehow routing it incorrectly.
See if you can find a cross to the K081102 from my thread, as it's 110 3/4" long.
Can you take a picture from...
So the only parts store axles I'd recommend are the autozone ones. Lifetime warranty.
They are made in China, and the quality isn't the best, but as your intention is to use it as a cheap spare to get you home. Plenty of reports of them doing okay, but a few reports of them failing. The...
and if you are curious as to what type of grease GAA is, it's a lithium complex NLGI #2
GAA is an advanced lithium-complex thickened, multi-purpose NLGI Grade 2 grease. This product is composed primarily of synthetic hydrocarbon base stocks, gelling agents, anti-oxidants and corrosion...
it depends on how you wire it.
If you wire the converter straight to the battery, then yes, it can (if it isn't done with some type of relay).
If you wire it so that the negative side of the converter is on the DC shunt, (basically grounded to the chassis as opposed to the battery) then it will...
On an application like this, the type of grease isn't really all that important.
What's important is actually having the points greased that need it.
GAA is used because it's the standard multipurpose grease, so it's what should be on hand.
It's not a high wear, high stress, fast moving, or...
Hard to see in your picture, but I can't tell if you have the extra pulley down there between the alternator/generator and the power steering pump. Your power steering reservoir should be up on top of the engine if you do.
If so, below is the link to the belt for the newer style setup with the...
So it's a pair of small 12V sealed lead acid batteries, and a switch to run them either parallel or in series.
I'm sure it will work as a boost pack if your batteries are low, but I seriously doubt you're going to have much luck starting trucks with completely dead batteries.
That 3400 peak...
If they aren't changing the motor, then cutting the transmission output gearing in half will also half the torque, but double your top speed.
But if you were looking at trying to go to a 1:1 differential using the 9.73:1, then going to the 4.5:1 with a 4.88:1 rear end will be basically the same...
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/belt-info-on-my-m1123-with-6-5l-serial-number-below-196901.199416/
Does your engine have the extra idler pulley between the generator and the power steering pump? If so, that would explain the 110.2" belt being much too short. If only slightly too short...
Trailer manual can be found here:
The one for M1101/1102 is 3rd from the bottom

This is the page that shows the lubrication points on the surge brake assembly, and what type of grease.
I had an issue with the brake caliper bracket bolts backing out and contacting the ends of the halfshaft bolts on both front calipers. Not exactly a knocking sound, but similar. Just something to check, along with the halfshaft bolts.
If you can grab the brake caliper and it moves at all...
I believe that you are supposed to, at minimum, set your location to the state you are in, not just "USA"
You might want to get that taken care of before the admins get involved.
