Even the military doesn't make their drivers know anything in the manuals.
I remember getting licensed on one when I got to my unit. Was basically a couple questions about whether I knew how to drive or not, then a test drive in an LMTV. They even have me my 5 ton license without anyone to...
Do it a bunch of times not running, then do it a bunch of times while running. (40 times each direction and waiting like 5 seconds at full lock each way I believe)
When I did mine it didn't like me no matter how many times I tried, so eventually I gave up and just filled the reservoir to...
The PVC doesn't give at all like the rubber runflat, so Trailworthyfab requires you to tell them exactly what tire/rim combination you are running in order for it to fit properly.
Then you should stick with that brand/model of tire whenever you replace them in order to keep the proper fit...
If it somehow failed in the open/energized position, which would be extremely rare.
The fan clutch requires pressure to disengage. When power is applied to the cadillac valve, it sends fluid pressure to the fan clutch. When no power to the cadillac valve, the fan hub is bypassed and the fan...
There are some people that have replaced the hydraulic clutch system with a thermal fan clutch, and I haven't heard any issues related to doing so.
The military system of "fail to full operation" of the system makes sense in a military setting; and I like knowing that if something goes wrong...
Depends on where you are at.
When I was in South Korea we had a 25mph convoy speed.
When 5 or fewer vehicles we could do 35.
When on our own we drove whatever speed we wanted to.
I was on Ammo detail a lot. One trip to the range center (over 100 miles away) I had the S-3 (a Major) riding in...
no worries.
pouring out is different.
Have you at least verified it's at the correct level when not running?
(when I replaced by pump I had to overfull all the way to the top before it would bleed the air out fully, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's overfull)
Yes power steering.
Fluid will be DEX 3 transmission fluid (do not use DEX 6 even though it says backwards compatible; that is only for transmissions)
Open up the cap and check fluid level. If it shows as good then run truck for a minute or two with the cap off and see what the level does.
If...
The H1 doesn't use it, because on the H1 they put reinforcement brackets on the floor somehow (from what I have read).
That bar supports the floor panel in the 2 man configuration for the cargo area, and is used when bolting in some of the various bodies in the back of the 2 man truck (such as...
What he meant was you can add a locking fuel door to the outside, to make accessing the fuel cap more difficult to those types of people.
You can do a search online for them, or here are a couple links that came up from a quick search...
I believe at minimum you have to swap to a different water pump as it is reversed direction on the serpentine from the V-belt style.
Some of the other accessories may also be reverse spin.
So yes, it is possible, but does involve more than just swapping pulleys.
So I've seen a couple questions on facecrook about manuals for the HMMWV red dot system.
I'm tired of going through my bookmarks every time I want to share them, so I'm going to link them here instead, as I usually end up linking this thread anyway.
Red Dot Parts catalog. The main difference...
Either DEX 3 or DEX 6 work just fine.
Dex6 is backwards compatible in transmissions. It is NOT backwards compatible in the power steering system, so the choices are either keep multiple fluids on hand for the truck, or keep everything as DEX 3 and only stock one fluid.
(The military likes to...
So you're running a jumper wire from the batter to the "run" position on the key switch, not the "Battery" or power inlet portion of the switch?
If I'm reading things right, wire 11A should be the power into the switch. That is the wire spot you should be putting power to from the battery for...
So what you are saying is that you aren't getting 24V to the start switch (and if it's a key switch you should ditch it and put the original paddle switch in, as a lot of key switches have been known to cause issues and kill start boxes)
If you haven't already, download TM 9-2320-280-20-1 and...
yeah. A lot of the shelters that go on the HMMWV fit down where the rear passenger doors would be and take up that space. Some only have the front bulkhead area extend down and then the bottom is the standard filler panel; others like this one fill out the whole area.
I'm not sure of the internal width of the M1102, but if it's exterior dimensions are the same width as the HMMWV you'd have to either cut out the sides of the trailer at the front, or narrow down the shelter where it fits into the trailer bed.
It might work on one of the LTT chassis that...
