    ID help

The shelter has an antenna on top and a cable reel. I believe it is some type of communication trailer - just a guess.

    m35a2 from redstone to georgia

If they run, why not drive them? You can always move them off-site to give you more time. It's not such a long trip from Redstone to Cartersville.

    Brake issues, need input.

You need to rebuild the master cylinder or replace it with a new one. I bought two NOS MCs on e-pay recently for a very reasonable price. Make sure you know the proper procedure for bleeding. It is not difficult.

    New to the Deuce

At least it's in Oklahoma. However, as stated previously, $8K is a lot of money. As Heavy said above, you can get a very nice Deuce for a lot less.

    Gear lube question

I use GL-5 in the differentials and GL-1 in the transmission and transfer case. Don't use GL-5 in the transmission because of yellow metal compatibility. Both are easily obtained.

    M149A2 Recovery From Camp Lejeune

Actually, I might bring it to the Georgia Rally. I was planning on pulling my M105A2, but I now might bring the WB, especially if it might be of use. I'm pulling it in a parade with my M35A2 this coming Saturday in Hiawassee, Georgia. It's the Georgia Mountain Fair parade, but is really a...

    M149A2 Recovery From Camp Lejeune

Here are the photos of the landing gear, hopefully. I'm having problems with a very low upload speed on my internet connection.

    M149A2 Recovery From Camp Lejeune

Well, the longer you look, the more things you find wrong. I just discovered that one of the landing wheels was frozen in place, and I couldn't break it free. No problem, I drove out both pins from each end of the axle and then drove the axle out with a drift. Although the outside looked very...

    M149A2 Recovery From Camp Lejeune

My 149A2 recovery from Camp Lejeune went without a hitch, except for the long 1023 mile round trip, some of which was caused by a very long detour. The GL guys at Camp Lejeune were great. I arrived on site at about 0700 and one of the guys let me in early to hitch up my F150 to the trailer. I...

    Hello from NE Georgia

Welcome to Steel Soldiers! This is a great site with a lot of resources and good people. I'm not too far from you, in Hiawassee, a little further north.

Met the driver of my M1009

I looked at several magnetic mounts and most were junk. The ones I got are very good, won't mar the paint and won't fall off. I've been using them for about a year now without problems. I bought them off the internet - I'll see if I can find the supplier.

Sorry, I have no idea. It would be good to know if it fits multiple applications.

    Seill looking

The correct spelling is Hagglund. This is a Swedish articulated military vehicle that is fully amphibious and a fantastic vehicle with a large load capacity. Goes just about anywhere. Check out http://www.arctictracks.com/main.html

    New guy from Miami

Welcome to Steel Soldiers! I would also check the axel vents or perhaps even replace them. If you do replace them check the new ones to make sure they aren't stuck. I would also recommend using a different font color - your posts are difficult to read.

Met the driver of my M1009

I hope you got his name and contact information. He is undoubtedly full of information on the history of the vehicle, or at least in the later years. You are in an enviable situation having not only identified, but talked to the guy. He might even know earlier drivers. As far as the license...
