internally cooled
How does that work? The tubes that are in the pan are nice for over road use. But military , logging construction and off road they would be clogged in a week. Define internally cooled.
These pads are worn. But not to the point of failure. It is only about an hour to change the brakes. I could have used the pressure washer and cleaned them but I didn't want the mud so I just brushed them clean. I didn't even blow compressed air on them. Just a bellows I have to work remotely...
I still have to clean and service it every time I use it in the extreme conditions. And with the stock parts as inexpensive as they are. I will stick to the current system. The front brakes were just as bad and they were brand new pads also. Same mileage. 20 miles and severe wear on brakes front...
I had another brand of pan with the connection for the transmission temperature on my M1009. Broke it off (cracked it). Went back to the HMMWV pan. I done it in a corn field cutting firework.
Put disk brakes on all four, problem solved.
That's NOT going to happen. I will just change the brakes. I do NOT need the added expense of disc brakes on the rear of an old M1009 Terminus mud truck. I can think of all the years it was used in the military. They must have put brakes on trucks...
Used to be that the only belts that truly fit a CUCV were GM belts. And for many years that is all I ever ran. Now they have been discontinued for many years so I run what ever I can find that has a V. I used the higher riding 1/2" 12.7mm drive belt in the Fleetrunner. It seems to last. I know...
Terminus looks pretty dry underneath. The new cross member held up well. And the T case reinforcement. Lets just say it's there and leave it at that. No debate needed. Looks like I need a new E brake cable on the cab to mid ship. Both right and left cables were a bit tight. I oiled them and...
Terminus must have been to a wedding. He caught the garter belt. I seen it hanging on the rear axle. Maybe thats why the brakes are ground down. Could have been an Ohio wedding in July.
Time to awaken Terminus M1009. Rest time is over. Today's mileage. So in reality Terminus M1009 has worn out a set of rear brakes in less then 20 miles. I would never believe it if I didn't see it for myself. Warranted for life. I never knew it was possible. Saturday is coming. New Brakes are in...
Funny thing is. I have several thousand used bricks. When they tear down buildings and have brick piles I am right there. I have done a lot of masonry work on my property with salvage bricks. I had a friend that was in his 80's and he loved doing masonry work in trade for a CUCV M1028 that he...

Big seal installer is an easy short piece of 2 X 4 layed flat and hit to drive seal in. 2 x 6 will work also. Walnut, pine, fir, or oak. Anything that lays flat.
I was looking over my Mule M1009 and noted the V belts on Gen 1 & Gen 2 were a little chewed up. I have had a bit of belt squeal recently. I choose to remove the belts and replace them. They were both at MAX adjustment. Most belts I buy just from the listed CUCV application list are almost at...
All finished and ready for delivery. This was a reverse transformation. From the short bed Mule M1009 pick-up to the stock M1009. Thanks for looking. I hope it helped some of you. I am ready to let go of this CUCV. I think some one else deserves to have it and enjoy it as much as I did. Have a...
This is where I started this AM. With a shell of a gate mounted and adjusted. Inside of gate after installing the tracks I made with the TrimLoc. Gate is all installed and window assembly is operational. Used gate cables and cable guide springs.
Today I had the glass company install the windshield and rear window back into the M1008. It was $80. Easier to pay $80. then struggle and break it by myself. Besides it was tough enough for him to work back in. The window rubber had shrunk quite a bit after being out the past 2 years. No damage...
