Well nothing gained or lost then. I will let mine hooked up as is. They still work. Why fix it? I also think the slave cables have something to do with the resistors. I used to know the truth and never had any issues. Then I came here to the internet and I get different opinions and unclear...
How fast does Dude M1028A1 comfortably run with stock tires? Not to start anything or a debate. My family and friends have or had M1028's and I still have several. We run them 70 75 mph sometimes 80. Never blew one up yet. I have all stock and most of the trucks are now well over 100K miles...
I know what you meant. I just wanted to over emphasis that spending big money is NOT always the best way. Heck I seen guys use heater hose for house plumbing and brag that they don't pay plumbers. It worked but very shady. I have a 150 year old farm house and when I had it remodeled back in the...
Not the same. Mine all go back up to green right away after starting and then you see it drop a bit and then back up in green and then back down again. It does it about 4 times and takes about 30 45 seconds to complete. It will slowly go all the way green to the notch each time. Yours stayed...
Another thing I want to add. I do all the repairs on Terminus M1009 myself and then I follow up after an outing to see if they hold and survive my punishment. Some people do things half fast. This commercial reminded me of them repairs and the people doing them. Who am I to judge? Maybe they...
Sorry. I do NOT consider it a cheap fix to put hydraulic rubber hoses and hose clamps. It is a good fix if done correctly. No need to over budget this simple repair. The oil cooler hoses on several types of vehicles were fixed this way. We had police cars come in that had minor oil leaks on the...
Not sure how I would figure my time. I am a guy that works on anything from Honda tractors to CUCV's and anything I can take apart and fix. My time spent working and I call it playing is better spent then sitting in the house watching TV or sitting here typing and getting nothing else done. i...
If I could post a video I would. I know the difference when one has the bypass and one don't. Most times just by starting it cold and watching the volt meter. I don't know the technical terms. I just followed the instructions in the TM and a book that I bought from CUCV electric. Very handy...
I changed the front E-brake cable. It is a chore when you are by yourself. Greased and oiled the E brake pedal mechanism. All oiled up and works great again. I adjusted the rear brakes and E brake cable. I left nothing to chance. Pulled down the relays cleaned the connections and added...
Time to work on Terminus M1009. Goals. Get the brakes and E-brake operational. Change the oil , air and oil filter. Sounds easy enough. I have other work on the menu also. m1008 wheels need painted. Pictures later.
Just make sure it did NOT jack up the plug that fits into that switch. Clean it really good and make sure it has a tight hold of the switch. Some cleaning and dielectric grease and you should be set. Not the longest lasting set up in that switch design. But it has outlasted the life expectancy 2...
I would say yes. Cut the plug. The one wire is the hot all the time the others send the signal to the resistor for speed. So twist the hot wire to one of the others and get it going for now. Are you having a hard time finding a switch?
I have steel toed boots. I get my toes stepped on so often. I don't even take notice anymore. Wears the leather thru now. I guess it is tough with the language barrier. You are all good. No problems here. I enjoyed your posts so far. It is great that you have a CUCV in Germany. I see a facebook...
Life expectancy of the oil in my Son's case was 4 Hours max. He did not carry used oil with him. He put it in the tank when he left home and it was gone by mid state Virginia. Personally I would use it up 1 QT per tank and I am sure you will be fine. Or NOT and dump it in a waste oil furnace...
I run what ever comes out of the diesel pump at Speedway and Loves. My Son would pour a gallon of drain oil in his M1028A1 truck at every fill up. He never had any adverse conditions that I know of. 20 years ago I added used ATF and never noticed anything different. My Son drove his M1028A1 from...
Imagine that. GM may have been onto something. And 30 years ago? That really blew my mind. Have a great day. I agree. I have a few spare resistors. I bought everyone I ever seen. Because 20 years ago I was told they went bad all the time. Still have the large stock pile. Maybe.
I have a QT of the red dye. I used to be required to add it to 2 cycle fuel so that it was identified. That stopped when the new Stihls were having problems with the dye inside the carb's. That and when I stopped being the mixer. I would put a capful in a 5 gallon can of mixed fuel. When I was...
