jwaller, when you drill the ball, be careful when the drill does thru the ball. It pushes against the screw and turns it in. Then it's kind of like starting over 'cause you don't know where you started.

Went back and pulled the washer off of the other trailer tonite. Measures 3.0 od. 2.040 id. .125 th. Made of bronze. Looked at McMaster, found 2 that will do nicely. The id is .040 smaller than needed, but that can be fixed easily. The page won't link, but here's some p/n's 7814K42 or 5906K528...

Hey Clinto, Nope, it't the brass or bronze one that goes on the bottom side so when the unit is unhooked, there is a bearing surface for the gear to pivot on. Thanks for the offer.

I swapped the crank up gear off of the GL trailer to the free one yesterday. I had already installed the armstrong gear and come back home and realized that the thrust wasn't on the crank up one. Does anyone have a thrust washer they wanna sell?

Be careful. Cylinder kits aren't cheap! Also remember that the Small Cam followers are a weak link. When you jack up fuel pressure, it loads the injector pushtube and follower alot more. Pins like to break. Worse case scenerio, pin breaks, pushes out the side of the follower, sticks a valve...

You can drill the frame rails, just don't drill, cut or weld on the flanges. Side = OK, top or bottom = not OK.

Ditto on Aces reply. A synthetic oil isn't good for a new engine. What if you develop a leak when you are out and about? Shouldn't mix the two.

There are a few ways to check for vacuum leaks. One is just listen. There should be a whistling sound. Get a can of brake cleaner..make sure it's flammable..and spray around the carb base and intake manifold. If there is a leak there, the idle will go up by itself. BE CAREFUL with the last...
