Remove the cover on the side of the pump and make sure the shut off lever moves. It might be gummed up. Push it back and forth a few times with yer finger. nopics

See if there is a speedy sleeve available. It's a thin sleeve you push onto the crank. Makes it good as new.

The '89 didn't have one. Just a x over form the turbo to the intake. If there was a charge air cooler, that would make it a late 90 or later engine. Does it have a rotary or inline pump?

The TM says to torqe it.

Just pull the axles. Then you can do the seals too. It's fairly easy.

It's shorter. The engine you are looking at is non CAC and has a Bosch rotary pump. IMHO, the HP will be OK, but I think the torque and 100 RPM less will kill ya. See if you can find a late '97. they are rated at 2700 RPM, the HP and torque are mucho better. Another + is the P7100 pump. Way...

On the class 8 trucks of today, the tail light x member is either riveted, bolted or huck bolted to the frame rails with no washers between the x member and frame. It was most likely assembled then painted. The unpainted surfaces clamped together provide a ground, but, the lights have a ground...

If it were an oil cooler, it would look like oil colored cottage cheese...yuk! If it has the old style head gaskets and they are leaking oil, it is possible that oil is migrating to the coolant passages. If it were fuel, it would be white.
