Not going to happen in a mostly sealed tire. The air inside the tire can only hold so much water vapor and once it's saturated to it's dew point evaporation stops. There is some exchange over time as you inflate and deflate but it's not going to be much.
I haven't run across a PCU that didn't need rebuilding yet. You can get new spool valves and o-rings from a couple different vendors. First time I powered mine up it started venting under the dash and wouldn't stop. And my truck is a 2008.
They are not. He is incorrect. I have done extensive research into every engine part number that could possibly be different (cylinder head, pistons, camshaft, injectors, turbo, etc) and they all come back the same except for the turbocharger and deeper investigation confirmed it was the same...
Yep. Cold solder joint here. $230,000 in tax dollars plus shipping to Kuwait and back only to sell it for 10% of it's cost and probably half that after Ritchie Bro's takes their cut at auction..... I do love when uncle sugar is tired of his new toys after Christmas morning.....
9 months to find...
I can't recall..... It may after a period of time or after it sees enough vehicle speed for enough elapsed time.
I just figured it's a good first check since the controller won't really do anything till it sees enough system pressure so no sense messing with the wiring till you determine that...
My truck had an incorrectly set unloader and the CTIS controller reported a pressure switch malfunction. My switch was fine the system just wasn't reaching the pressure set point. Controller can only assume the switch is bad
Lets start with basics.
First - lets assume (I know.... but for the sake of some simple checks) that someone screwed with the wiring to try to hookup to the unit and communicate because A0 trucks don't have coms ports - they are supposed to use a breakout cable that's never around when you need...
If 40 HP and 56 Ft/lbs breaks a transmission on a truck that is 1/4 of the weight of an A1P2 M1089 wrecker fully loaded then it was going to break anyway. The transmission is grossly underrated in this application for civilian uses.
And everyone should be much more concerned about the transfer...
Yes it will be the 275/860 map. Even the A1P2 is still being delivered with that spec engine.
All the parts are the same as I stated - with the exception of the water cooled turbo CHRA. This can be added if you like but changes nothing about how the engine or turbo functions. It's there for...
I was put in touch with a CAT technician through one of their corporate dealership training managers. The technician in question worked at our local power products and equipment dealer and used my C7 military serial number to request ratings from CAT and was told in no uncertain terms by his...
Yep. And that's why the military van (M1079) and expansible van (M1087) models are so desirable. Not to mention they cost more empty when new (my 2008 M1079A1R was $325k new adjusted for inflation - and that's a completely empty box) than many of these civilian expedition rigs cost fully...
Immediately after I added it I did get some that wanted to come back out the valve stem but once it went down into the tire proper past the bead locks I haven't had any signs of it. Not sure exactly how that would be possible. I have run my truck through a full cycle from sand to highway with it...
Not only is the 370/931 tune not in CAT ET, it's also not available from CAT. The serial prefix on the military supplied C7's is locked down to only it's original rating from caterpillar so that even a CAT dealer cannot flash it to any other rating (either up or down). Flashing the ECM to...
I found that a half gallon of anti-freeze in each tire worked well for me. I tried one quart (32oz) and that wasn't sufficient. I don't have any issue with the CTIS once the anti-freeze worked it's way past the bead lock. I had my rims powder coated and mounted the new tires myself. The balance...
If you have to ask this isn't the right truck for you.
All habitats for these trucks are custom built. You don't just "buy" one, you commission their construction or construct them yourself unless you buy a military van or expandable van.
3126b and C7 both have the same LMTV and MTV ratings in stock form. LMTV is 275/860, and MTV is 330/860.
I can program 3126b LMTV's to the 330/860 spec, and I can program all the C7's to 330/860 or 370/931. Thus far I have not found a higher power map for the 3126b unfortunately.
That's a good point - It's not uncommon for some joe to incorrectly wire up the LBCD studs. My intake grid heater was on the 12v side of my LBCD. Probably related to various troubleshooting performed by PFC Snuff that was never able to find the cold solder joint on the LBCD ground pin of it's...
If you want an M1079 then wait for one. That's what I did. It's worth it in my opinion.
Changing the speedo head on an A1R will just pull the same mileage from the MMDC as the previous speedo head. They are CANBUS gauges and only display what they are told to display. You can check the CAT...
A1 and A1R (3126b and C7) both calibrate speedo readout through the ECM. That goes for the speed input to the CTIS as well. I can program both as well as change all the CTIS settings to anything desired.
Mileage is stored in the ECM on both the 3126b and the C7 and I can program both of those...
