Johnny Reb- Why not put a locker in the forward tandem, then a double spline shaft and single Selectro on the STILL open rear tandem? That way you can unlock that hub and not be still pushing one axle as it would be if it had a locker or spool. You would eliminate some handling issues by not...
Call the trucking company and jump on their sh!t about it. There's so much cross docking of this and that stuff gets misshipped, regretably, frequently. I could however...be worse considering ALL the product that gets truck and pallet shipped. Overnight lost my 1160/3208 CAT motor!!! It took...
Uh, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that eBay wrecker although super sharp looking ONLY has the multifuel engine it NOT the big 250 that, personally, I would want in a truck that massive if it were going to really be used a lot AND have those mammoth tires. Yes, power is stepped up...but...
I did something like that when I sold the first rear position axle out of a parts truck. Chained the springs up...same principal. That's somewhat easy and quick...but still massivly heavy.
They're pretty clear about NOT having any sponsor stickers on the truck. They don't want this to be come a big pimp this, pimp that, event. I've got a guy on board for a spotter who's been neck deep in M715's for about 10 years. Built, beat, bought, sold, restored, trail time...a good guy to...
Bjorn, are you sure that's a Norwegian truck? I thought it was just an M35A3? I posted that pic a while ago. I've got a pic of another that's desert tan with the same roll over bar thing. Just wondering...
Thanks guys...I know I just gotta keep getting up in the morning and going about the day. The whole deal really pisses me off bad. Eh, oh well...ring finger is almost completely tanned over.
Those winches are pretty sturdy. Might want to just run around it with sandpaper then test fit again. If it goes on some but not the whole way, tap it on with a brass hammer...or you could heat the yoke and slide it right on then put in the bolt...oops, shear pin. :)
SS, I really appreciate the offer...especially with what's happening here at home. Wife's decided that she's leaving in two weeks. It's too long to get into deeply. Known her for 3 years, 1 year anniversary 04/04/04, bought a house...POOF-> C-YA, don't want to live in east, never want kids, miss...
I made a set when I put the REO axles into my M715. Used 5/8" round stock and bought a die from Graingers. Bend them on 90* for the axle tube on a hydraulic press.
Deuce-Bigalo, that IS one of the tires on my M715 for TTC. Have another set of wheels supposedly coming with slightly different backspacing. Tires are grooved 395/85R20 XML's. The tire in that pic looks wickedly out of place as I've trimmed the fender and don't have the flare back on it yet...
That color is: Krylon, Rattle Can, Olive Drab. HA! Oh, the front bumper might look grayish as I only hit that here and there and wanted to leave some of it's original paint show though. Had a gray area with stencils on it.
M1075, I know...believe me...I know. Among other things I have going...
Yeah, so I could only take that blue and white jazz for so long then when I swapped on the OD dropside bed the blue and white cab looked...well...effin' nasty, I mean let's just call it what it was. It's funny...the truck looks smaller now BUT, all the odd stuff I've done; big-ass winch, mack...
The Rambo deuce wasn't a REO though, it was the earlier GMC deuce. Still a wickedly neat scene! Oh, and the front axle is rated at 11,000# capacity too. The winch and cable set up is only like another 400# anyway. Heh,heh.
