I was wondering if they are prone to leaking. I have been interested in them as an RV(as in another thread) but they would not be much good if they leak whether opened up or closed. Do they have some preventive measure against leaking or are there rubber seals that weather with age. It rains...
That is interesting info. My truck has a rotating beacon but its more modern than my truck. My truck has a blackout light on the right fender but no lense for it. If I had another bracket like the one that holds on my blackout light, I could get one of those wrecker lights fron Saturn Surplus...
Nice Trucks. Those big tires look great. When you get one of those lights off let me know and I'll get you my address so you can send it.
Seriously, my guess is that you can turn on that red light when you are facing traffic, but it doesn't seem to be really needed.

Sorry I don't have a picture of my own. Every one I've seen (they have only been in pictures)has had the red light on the left fender between the turn signal and the hood. The holes in my fender are present, but I need the light and the bracket it goes in. Does anybody have one of the brackets...
I'm looking for the red light that rides on the front fender. My truck had it on the right fender, but I've seen others on the left between the turn signal and the hood.
Thanks,
Greg
Sounds like if I had a chance to look at it like you did it might have gone for more! I quit before it reached 4K. Hope it runs nice for you on the way home.
Their was a M109 at FT Lewis, near Seattle that went for $4660. It did have a lathe, drill press and a couple other tools in it. It looked good in the pictures but I didn't see it in person and it wouldn't start. I had to stop early. I hope its as good as it looks for whoever got it.
Nice M62. Is it still a gasser? I have a 1953. Love mine too. I have the SF97 but I haven't titled it yet. Oregon doesn't have historical plates for trucks. I wish there was some way to get Oregon to make them available.

RE: Re: RE: M1009 Alternator Light coming on
My 1009 has done this in the past and the #1 light stays on much longer than #2 after it starts also. But it hasn't given me any trouble. The dull glow seems to come and go but #1 light never goes out until I rev the engine after startup.
I think I'm getting to the bottom of some of the problems. I changed the glowplug temp sensor. I don't think it was working because the wait light now doesn't come on when the engine is warm. I tested the glow plugs with the volt meter and got nothing. Tapped the glow plug relay with the key off...
Ok, I'm even more confused now. I ordered the pressure switch from Owens and got it today. Pulled off the fuel filter which had no fuel in it to speak of and discovered the pressure switch is MIA. Just dust and cob webs where it should be. Wouldn't it leak out the hole with the engine running? I...
Thanks Mike, I found what I thought the sensor might be and took it to napa. They said they would get me one tomorrow. As far as the air leak, that will be a pain. After the engine is warmed up it doesn't run steady like it should it doesn't change speed hardly at all but a very subtle changes...
I can't find a fuel leak when its running. It all appears dry. I did change the fuel filter before I started it the first time. Maybe there is some air in it left from that and I'll try parking it nosing downhill next time it starts. It won't start again now. I thought I'd change the temp sensor...
