I was wondering how long that might take to equalize. The first 50% would be faster than the last, but how long is that? Would 1 hour be enough to be significant? Would running the headlights with the truck charging help pull more from the charged battery and aid in equalization? It seems like...
I thought that if one battery was lower than the other they would equalize the charge between themselves. Is this true? That would be before the engine was started.
I was considering hooking up a 12 volt winch to the rear of my deuce. Using a quick disconnect between the batterys and the engine not running, just using one battery to power the winch. Then hooking the batterys back together to run the deuce. Never using the winch when the batterys are...
The cab on that FWD is an International cab. I'm guessing 1956 or57 because of the back window. The U-21 powerplant is a rare engine I think. I don't know what International family of engines it belongs to. The cab probably was made after 1957 as well but it was on International pickups in 1956...
For the front winch, do I fill it to the top? I only see the fill hole on top and the drain on the bottom. Couldn't find it in the manuals online. Do you guys mix some grease with the oil to make it thicker to leak less?
Thanks,
Greg
Its definately a lifter noise. The fact that everything runs smooth and quiet then starts ticking, gradually getting louder, the noise peaks then starts getting quieter until its gone. Runs quiet alittle while then starts the cycle over. This cycling has thrown me. I haven't had time to get the...
Thanks for the pointers. I will take off the covers and try to figure out where it comes from. The truck has been sitting alot. If a spring was broke wouldn't it make noise all the time? Same thing if its out of adjustment? If I was to guess it sounds to me like its not getting oil. One lifter...
I have a 1953 Gasser that I'm trying to get road ready. It has a lifter noise problem that comes and goes about every 15 seconds. Oil pressure on the gauge reads 40lbs. Anyone dealt with this before? It does this at idle. I can't hear it in the cab so I'm not sure if this happens at higher...
Jerry,
I have had the same dim glow on one of my generator lights. It seems to be happening more and getting a little brighter too. Anyone have an answer or solved this one?
Thanks,
Greg
When you ship those babys use a flat rare box from the USPS. $8.40 no matter the weight anywhere in the USA. I'd be interested in a set too if they aren't all gone already.
Thanks,
Greg
I couldn't find a respirator thats made to protect your lungs from silica. Either it doesn't seal around your face or it passes thru the filter. In any event they all say not to use with silica sand. What is TSC?
Often the price to move your vehicle isn't just the distance you need it moved but also how far they need to go to get the thing and then back after it's delivered. $400 sounds very reasonable.
What would you consider to be a reasonable ammount?
What would it cost to have one rebuilt? As a practice, does anyone know when an engine is rebuilt by the army did they rebuild the injector pump too? Or was a new one usually installed because they aren't economically rebuildable?
I'll call...
Took the Deuce out for a 180 mile run to haul home the LDS engine I got from GSA. The engine is a TEAD rebuild in 4/89 that never got installed in anything. Its still bolted to a skid. I asked if the injector pump was still on it and was told it was, but come to find its a worn out one someone...
