    That track could be good or not good. You have to look for what is called “dead shoes”, which means the rubber bushings inside the pins is shot and the two adjacent shoes pivot freely. If there are multiple dead shoes, the remaining bushings are not far behind.

    I would start by verifying that 24 volts is present at the injection pump with the ignition on. Listen for clicking of the solenoid inside.

    Easier to just put a bunch of diodes in series to cut the 24 to 14. But to answer your question use the hot wire going to the brake light switch.

    If your hoses are OEM from 1966 etc they could be swollen inside causing restricted flow.

    FMV excuses you from yearly safety inspection but NOT out of state title initial inspection. So you are dead in the water until your truck is on TX soil.

    Op is talking about his MOTOR. Any huge 2 or 3 jaw puller should work. Use the crank bolt to draw the balancer back on the crank.

    Your TCM is either burned up or much more likely not getting power. The transmission is functioning in “limp mode” which means no computer control. Carefully go over battery connections and the wiring behind the batteries and the red button.
