Re: RE: FNG considering an m35 purchase. What are the essen
Gimpy, I agree. I have had the pleasure of meeting about 10 of the guys from this site. They are some of the finest examples of the human race. I've also had the pleasure of meeting and hanging with about 100 or so SCMVCC members...
Water pumps are gravy to do. If you can find the seal, bearing and shaft, I'll tackle it. I still do 1950s V6 and V8's at work and the latest it a QSK91, 91 liters of pure noise!
RE: Re: RE: It
Yeah. The original one had a split in the hose. Went to BPS truck parts, got some new line and made a new one. Checked the M/C...see above post...Put air to the gald hand...thump, thump from the air part of the M/C. Pulled the hyd part off, piston was stuck at the bottom of the...
Re: RE: Compressor Pulley
I love to see a guy that is touch with reality. Good luck and remember, if it looks like you are about to break something, don't be surprised if you do
How true! aua
No need to take the VCs off. Just use a razor blade on the old hoses..they get real hard and don't like to flex..and pull up on the rails. They will come right up. Be sure to clean the corrosion off of both the rails and the manifold connections. Use a little bit of grease or lube..WD40 or = ...
It can be done w/o the cool little wrench, or, with a BMF crescent on the back and another BA pipe wrench or the equiv. on the front...Having tried both...that's why I got the correct tool. 1/2 the time and you don't mess up the pulley. IMHO, since you got the rad. out of the way, do all the...
RE: It
Here's the pig behind the deuce. Pulls well, can't tell it's there. The M/C was full of goo  , so I guess I gotta pull the hubs off and clean/repair the wheel cylinders. Oh well, gives me something to do and keeps me out of trouble :)
RE: It
HA! Rick Larsen don't got JACK on me! I'll bet it doesn't take HIM 2 hours to make number stencils 8)
This trailer is in pretty good shape. I figure i'd do this one up a bit that way if the one from DRMO, Barstow is a rust bucket, I have a good trailer. The tires are junk on this one...
Gee FT, sounds like you've done that once or twice. I like the part about not dropping it on your foot  I take it, that's from experience  Just for S&G, what size is the 8 pt nut on the spindle?
Gotta take the water rail off. You need the 6 gaskets for the rails. The hose is 1 3/4.As for the belt. The outer part of the pulley threads off. Loosen it and the belt will get slacked and you can move it up over the pulley. It takes a special wrench to do it.
A reminder. BLUE smoke is oil, Black smoke is just lots o fuel. White smoke is timing, air in the system or just a cold engine. Slobber out the exhaust joints is normal if all you have done is start it and let it idle or putt it around and not work it. If it's dripping out the joints, run it...
