Now thats what I would LOVE to do with mine. My biggest fear is that in the Salt Capital, that it would be bad for the winch to live up there all the time.
Buy some 24v bulbs... swap them out as needed?
buy a set of these, and hope for the best? http://www.pmlights.com/products.cfm?cId=1&fId=62&pId=2343
Contact one of the big 3... Grote, Truck-Lite, or Peterson, and see what they offer? Someone is going to have the lights you need.
RE: Re: RE: electrical hack job and misc electrical
All but the blue wire cut in the harness appear to be 'add-ons' that were done and remove...
I will have to dig in the TM to find out what that blue wire is....
RE: Re: RE: electrical hack job and misc electrical
I moved this out of the PM, because its a very valid question that I feel the answer needs to be displayed here.
Yes, the high idle system requires you to 'set' the pedal. If you open your hood, and look at the front of the injection pump...
Re: RE: electrical hack job and misc electrical
This is NOT true. The high idle circuit is done right at the injection pump. The switch at the throttle pedal is for the 'kickdown circuit' on the transmission.
There is a downfall to this as well. If you leave the dash lights on, they will be on in this position. I have a rule... I always drive with the headlights on.... and always with the dashlights on. This pretty much makes it hard for me to not notice they are still on when I walk away.
I have one in the works for mine....

I am waiting for it to arrive via the OD express... I am thinking of making 2 bases, one in each front corner of the bed. Mine will be going in the new dropside bed, so it will be handy. It also occurred...
I actually have a 24v winch setup on a hitch mount for the 1009... going to wire it using a slave port on the winch, and a slave cable to connect it to the trucks... already done it once (well kinda) on the 1009... This works good, as I can use it anwhere I can mount a hitch.
