There was one guy who was starting the project. You might try looking up one of the chevy forums, as I am sure someone has done this. You might even try www.dieselplace.com Its a direct bolt in swap.... its just the computer wiring thats the tough part.

What year is the 6.5? The problem with the 4L80 is the computer controls. If the 6.5 is 94 or newer, the IP is run by the computer too, and you probably wont be able to use it.
The pad doghead refers to is about 1" x 2.5". Mine was totally missing the pad material. It uses a real heavy spring, and pushed it against the end of the drum.... sure sux not having a functional one doesnt it!
Keeping the Gen1 and Gen2 lights active as LED's will be slightly tough, as they are part of the charging system. You need to keep the resistance the same when creating a 'new' system. I had great plans at one point of putting 'factory' gauges in, and embedding the LED into them.... Then I got...
Tom, 2 options. You can toss 12v bulbs in the lights, and connect a flat 4 using bullet nose crimp connectors at the pigtail connection at the front.
or...
you can buy a cheapie set of trailer lights, and bolt them in place of the original composites. They use the same bolt pattern.
