Yep, I knew you were right! Particularly when Vann climbed into the drivers seat saying "I haven't been in one of these for 40 years, I'll see if I remember how to start it" and had it running 7 seconds later.. :driver:
Like a couple of other bits, I used what I could get. But if I can get...
Jeff has first dibs on stuff, but if he doesn't want the generator adjustment arm, and it goes up for grabs, I would like it.
The one on my V is not an original, so I would like to replace it for that reason, and also because it may cure my fan belt leaping off at inopportune moments.
Cheers
.
It is possible to make a weapon carrier, there is a thread on here somewhere on the topic. It shows some the military used for training, and some the USAF used, but the USAF took the fiberglass top off and mounted a pintle post in the bed. All were very light weight mounts.
Now, using one of...
There are a couple closer than mine. It would be expensive to truck mine up and back that far.
A gathering of V100s would be cool though. [thumbzup]
Cheers
Where are the pictures, Marine? :p
You might contact Earl Tucker at Int'l Repo Depo in Waller, he has/had a couple of these, he would be a good source for knowledge and perhaps parts. I meant to take a picture of his next to my V100 when it was at his place, but neglected to do so. (Need an...
The M75 was used in several MVs back in the day (including the early M113s), but that radiator is definitely V100, so I would be brash enough to presume the rest is too.
The V100 radiator hangs above and in front of the engine at a 45 degree angle (approximately), thus the offset cap on the...
Thanks Louie. Davey comes home on the 21st for two weeks leave. His mum didn't get to make the trip to California when he came home from Afghanistan, so she has dibs on first hugs (followed by his girlfriend, then his siblings, then, hopefully, me!).
Paddy is scheduled to go in February.
Happy...
I've never had a problem with Rapco paint, including the primer. I use it on all my vehicles. Contact Mark and see what he can do to make it right for you, he is a good guy and easy to work with.
Cheers
I don't know if it was proximity or what, but mine did the same thing a few nights back while I was following Pawnshop to chow (two 1009s in a row with the same malfunction).
I thought the left front bulb was bad, so I pulled it. It looked good but dirty, so I cleaned it well, cleaned the...
If you watch this video, you may recognize the V100 in it (starting around the :51 mark).
They (Textron) saw the videos Pawnshop posted on Youtube and contacted him/me for permission to use them. We of course said yes. I also sent them some additional clips. We were going to take some...
Understood! I pulled the leaking core out of my M813 heater to fix it, but 6 years later it is still sitting there. Just don't need a heater around here. Temperatures plunged to 65 last night... It does get cold here, but not by comparison to other places. When it is 40* outside, there is...
I have pulled a total of zero on the 270 so far! I just picked it up recently off of Ft Hood, with the intent of transporting my V100 to shows on it, and haven't got the loading ramps made for it yet. The deck is 40' (trailer is 49' total) so it should easily haul two smaller vehicles at a...
If you haven't tried it yet, go down to the bottom left corner of the page (way down there) and find the little menu thingy. It gives you a "higher contrast" option that changes the colour scheme to OD similar to the old site. That worked wonders for me, I could actually read things again, and...
As B3.3T suggested earlier, still sounds like the M1117/ASV. It is the grandchild of the V100, built by the same company (now called Textron).
I got to drive one during one of my stints training Army folks, very nice vehicle and a whole lot different to drive than my V!
Cheers
M270A1 and the M128A2C. I suppose I could drag the M105s around too, hadn't tried that yet.
Cheers
(and Pawnshop's M109... Sorry Sam, couldn't resist!)
