The wire 74 (pin I) will show very low impedance (resistance) to ground.
I just measured one at 2.5 ohms
If there was a short between positive and pin I it would try to kick the starter in when you connected the battery and would certainly cause a flash.

The most common things that can cause this are:
Stuck check valves, if they have not already been removed then do so.
Bad lift pump.
plugged pickup sock in the fuel tank.
When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

The transmission cooling system has nothing to do with the power steering/brakes.
That fitting seals on an O ring so movement might be completely normal.
The TCM-2100AB Etc. is a TCM built by PCS, it does not require a eprom but is rather expensive.
You can use a reman TCM 609 but will also need to purchase an eprom

Is this what you are talking about? the gasket between the canister and the body? it is hard to make out, the picture does not have good resolution.
It is better to look things up in the TMs rather than looking at a retail site, these are quite plentiful.
