If you take the "banjo" hose off the wheel valve the filter just sits in the valve below the threads. Email me a pic of what splash guard part you want will atpawnking dotcom
Yes the banjo bolt line going to the ctis valve. The other hose coming off the valve going to a elbow into the wheel stem holds tire air. The wheel valve has a spring and round rubber flap. Spring holds flap against valve body and air stays in tire. Fill air coming in pushes spring and allows...
The filter is on the air feed into the wheel valve from the truck. I have seen trucks with the filters removed before I got the truck presumably by the military.
With a schrader valve in the stem it won't do anything. That's why the tire is flat. Someone tries to fix a tire that was going flat but the problem is most likely elsewhere on the wheel.
If that's what you really want to do then by all means you should do it. Just carry supplies in case you break down in the cold. The lmtv will come with a good heater and comfortable seating out of the box though.
Both of my M939A2 trucks have air ride seats and radios. I take good care of my trucks but I wouldn't rely on them for a long cold drive to work. I have a Toyota for that. The military trucks are just not practical and fuel gets expensive. If you must you could probably do it in a humvee.
Yup there is a flat screw head on top when you "unscrew" it, it allows for flattering the tire fast. That's where they leak from. I hate them things. Put it all together minus the schrader valve in the stem and go from there.
Not there. I can see at the bottom what looks like a quick release piece that takes the place of the right angle coming off the valve stem and going to the hose that goes to the ctis valve. These things are notorious leakers. I believe an o ring can be replaced inside of it. Take the schrader...
Looks like it has a schrader valve in it. Take out the schrader valve put it all back together. Or swap it with your spare tire then you can play with it in time.
I have a stereo and air ride seat in my truck. If I had to take a military truck on a long drive it would be in a lmtv though. Especially in the cold the cab heater is amazing.
It's a lot of maintenance and the cab is drafty. I wouldn't want to rely on it for a daily driver especially in Alaska. Or for a 2 hour commute which would become a 3 hour tour in the military truck.
