Got a better persective with the other pictures, really nice work, -you have the idea down, one big pickup truck w/ the dual rear axles. The 5 ton bed is the optimum part for the mod, I may have to settle for a duece bed.

Thanks, in picture #7 you're attaching plates to the bottom of the rail, what plates are they? Did you salvage them from the fifth wheel plate assembly?
Oh man, you think rebuilding a truck is expensive, it would cost millions to make that airframe fly again. An airworthy Beech can be had for less than 100K.
Lets get one and start a little expedited truck parts business. We could air drop the light stuff.
There are several flying (AT-11) as collectable warbirds, they were navagation trainers, Civilian Beech-18 would be pretty tired by now. The Beech 18 I worked carried cancelled checks and other loose freight at night. Twin Pratt & Whitney R-985, 9 cylinder radials. Haven't seen one in the air...

Welcome aboard, contact "Castle Bravo" (Matt) , he is in Tempe, good guy and knows the equipment. He can probably let you look at a truck, maybe even sell you one. Lots of nice old trucks out there for a lot less than 35K, if you're mechanically inclined, they are easy to work on.

There are volumes of manuals that support these trucks; engines, runnig gear, equipment, etc, the one you really need and will answer all the operational questions is the "operators" TM. Get a copy for your specific truck series/model and keep it in the glove box. A lot of good info on the...
