Yes, the A3 could lead to increase cost due to certain components requiring change out. The truck, if maintained, will last your life time. Ensure it is properly serviced and lubed and you'll never have to replace the inboard bearings. The engine is a 200K + mileage design. Filters and dryer...
Dennis,
I used the AME Mod# 71600 bead breaker tool. $139.00 at Northern Tool. It worked like a champ. A little time consuming working around the big wheel, and a lot easier than the eng. hoist method. Get a handful of small wooden blocks and work around the wheel and the halves pop right out...

Like your idea regarding the tow bar hold down assembly, (post #10) Where did you soure the tow bar hold down clamps. I have a very similar idea. Nice truck, I check your other thread, nice work.

To All,
Looks like we're all on the same page, please post pictures and make sure you get a look at it's maintenance logs. This could be one of those diamonds in the rough. You never know, you might want to learn to fly it.

Clinto,
-good point, if it is not fly able and will sit in the front yard, it's worth about $ 1000.00. Simple, it's a piece of history.
If it can be made airworthy, it's worth is between $50k-$100k. Big difference. The OP needs to state his intent, sounds like he wants the helicopter as a toy/...
Well that don't make sense, that would be like buying a old truck and not driving it. If the aircraft is not airworthy it is not worth much more than a static display. Maybe be it should be put in a museum. If your intent is just have a old piece of flying history, serial numbers and...
Without log books/maintenance ,AD compliance history, the FAA/local CAA will not let it fly.
TopTiger put in perspective . I wonder if it is airworthy, pics would help .
You can drive it from that facility. Show up with some fresh
fuel and other fluids, drive it out the gate and check the rest of the fluids and drive it home.
Good point, if the affected tire is on the front, look it over real close, dry rot, side wall cracking are signs that it may not last a long trip home. Move it to the rear or swap with the spare.

Start the truck and turn the CTIS system off, take an inflater and inflate the tire through the service glad hand . The tire is deflated most likely due to a main seal leak. If your driving it home make sure you stop and check the pressures of the tires. Once you're on the road ,activate the...
Wreckerman is on it. There a a couple M923s with MRAP body shells installed on the back , parked at the DMRO yard at Wright Pat. The were used as simulators for the troops to practice egress and loading of gear. They can be seen from the road. GL agent says they may come up for sale since they...
