Looks like the remains of a helicoil insert. Might explain the flat condition/shape, is it ferris? Could be the remains of a sloppy helicoil replacement. Cut the filter open and check for other debris ,let us know what you find.

Same here, put two new 4DLT commercial tractor batteries (CCA850) from Tractor Supply in my M813 this past weekend, just touched the start swithch and fired right up. These batteries are big and long, fill the battery box with a little spacer on one side.
How about the gommet seal on the inflation stem. Know leak area. You can islolate the valve stem from the ctis valve, ctis valve normaly will not deflate a wheel. Soap check the wheel w/ about 50 psi in wheel.
Pull the transmission drain plug on my A3 and red ATF came out, was expecting motor oil. Truck was recovered from Wright Pat last summer. Dropped the pan and changed all filters. Hopefully be back on the road for the Fourth of July Parade.

Good point Gary, valve stem grommets were not the leak, however I did replace all 4 and two gland nuts while I had the wheels apart. Erik's had all the parts available.
