    Rear Main

I'm trying to decipher your question......:? There is a rear crankshaft seal AKA rear main seal... sometimes simplyfied as rear main;and then there is a special housing for it, called carrier... two different items. G.

Warning!! Check your surplus engines before start up!

 Now tell us your secret, Tom: what in this world made you wanting to pull the intake manifold back out, after everything was so nicely in place...???? .... I could see use for a bottle of that "Murphy Antidote"...!:) G.

    Compressor gasket replacement

LOL.... that's what I thought when you said all this time you had it running with nothing else connected to it, just the main output...! If you don't have that thin copper line, you should at least be able to locate the unloader port on your governor; probably plugged somehow? G.

    Compressor gasket replacement

... air to filter - NO! I say it once again: that orifice (in the center of the blue area) goes connected to the air governor, via a 1/4" copper tube. You can try running it without it but then the compressor will not stop pumping air, until the relief valve blows open! G.

    1972 Deuce front axel seals

Strange but who knows; could be anything - from being old, hardened seals to insufficient lip-to-shaft interference; to having excessive vertical play in the kingpins...? Or maybe retainer not correctly sealed to the axle housing?? FWIW: retainer bore diameter is 2.686"; shaft dia. is 1.668"...

    Hub keeps getting hot ?

Well, yes, observation more than correction: please avoid giant run-on sentences... it's not only annoying to read... it is against the rules, also! And read this post, here , in reference to new replacement seals... G.

    M35A3 window regulator

It's kind of tricky, yes..... and having long, skinny monkey arms makes it much easier to fix...:-P Related threads: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/86047-help-window-removal.html http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/49958-deuce-window-regulator.html...

    ldt bellhousing SAE size.

Part# is 480861C1 (Read my post, here...... no idea who the manufacturer is...) I would try to find a used part at your local truck-junkyard; or i.e. this company: $75, used G.

    Compressor gasket replacement

Lol... well, I am sure!:) Without the governor it would never "unload" (= never stop pumping) and you had the relief valve opening every few seconds, once it reached around 135psi. G.

    Compressor gasket replacement

What about the fitting the air line coming from the governor connects to? Possibly your new compressor came without it; only intended to replace another, already existing 1-cylinder compressor? G.

    New Data Plate Source

:) uhmm, ehrrr.... what about the brand, Nartron vs. Natron....?? Don't know, maybe it's done on purpose and not just a typo....? No biggie, really. Yes, some do; depending on quality, origin, etc. Here is some interesting reading about how some of the typical products are tested and...

    New Data Plate Source

OK, this is what I have in mind...: #0.020 aluminum plate; silver letters & frame, over black ground; W/ rounded corners and holes; more or less matching the different versions out there, in size and style of letters. Take a look, below..... if any of you wanted anything changed, please speak...

Air compressor TM...Is there such a beast..?

I'm sure they put two holes in the gasket because Soldier B might not be aware of the fact that........... This is how the compressor looks like, at the bottom... with its oil inlet port clearly visible. G.

    Air compressor question

Ah OK. Just the rear cover. Nothing should fall out when removed. No big deal to replace a gasket there. G.

    Winch clutch sliding key thanks!

I agree that using a non-dripping lube here, IS a very practical solution. BUT.... wherever oil would come out... water; dirt; humid air or other contaminants will eventually find the way IN! Especially since most of the seals I have seen used in this case are single-lip, only! Normally, the...

    New Data Plate Source

OK, sounds promising! Actually I was waiting for anything in reply to that email sent...(? )(broadsword71, post #13) I'm going ahead then and copy/re-design/scan that particular winch DP (with holes, etc.) and contact them. And before ordering I will let everyone know; thinking of eventually...

    Role reversal

Wow...finally threw a rod!? Prolly that very same knocking one??? Sorry to hear that. :( (If engines had a soul and feelings... it just never wanted to leave "home" and simply took its revenge.......!) G.

    Remove/Install rear main seal NHC250 M809

Wish I had "been there...." The folks at Memphis should know better but.... the longer I look at your pics, the more convinced I get that there is no extra seal housing behind that "hump", for this engine version. It just wouldn't make sense, all that work - to almost having to pull the engine...

    Noise in 5th gear

You really think that's what it is - clutch chatter? ... and only when he's put it in 5th....???? :???: G.
