It has been a year since my complete overhaul of the Mule. I have driven it several thousand miles and without incident. Today I noticed a slight drip from the drivers side. And it was antifreeze. With all the negative talk about Autozone parts I was thinking maybe it could be the radiator. I am...
You will be fine. Check out my Easter find M1008 I just completed replacing the rockers and cab corners and have it ready for primer. Moving right along.
Less then a week to go. Are you ready? My Son has his CUCV M1028A1 Mad Cow Disease truck ready to go. He just put a new rear main seal in it and replaced the oil cooler lines. We opted to use new hose and clamps. The OEM ends are barbed. No problem. See you there.
This little tool is very handy to get into the seams and clean out all the paint and rust. I just wear a particle mask. 80 grit on a DA sander works well also. But I want to let you know CARC paint is very abrasive and it will wear a 5" sanding disc out in less then a minute. Also the 2" Roloc...
10-15 years ago I was scrapping out perfectly good CUCV trucks for parts. They were easy to come by and they are only mechanical things. I have a few nice CUCV's and nobody ever wants to pay for them. So I work them as plow trucks and off road vehicles. When I have an M1009 that is worth less...
I have seen how some Americans work. And what they expect for the work they do. I can hardly blame them. I have seen how hard Mexicans and Chinese work. No surprise to me that it goes that way. It is a world market. And that will never change anymore. Each day the world gets smaller and the...
These guys don't like parts and tools from Autozone. It must be the original Kent Moore tool that is recommended in the GM service manual. If it don't say AC Delco they feel it is not worth the time. News flash a lot of the A C Delco parts are made in the same plants in China that the Autozone...
My experience has been that the stock pumps have a 3/8" X 16 standard coarse thread in the pump shaft. I know it is strange but that is how it was back in the day. Mixed with standard and metric fasteners. Clean the thread well with a tap and I think you will be good. Because the M10 X 1.5...
Not that I can think of at the moment. Pretty much have it covered a few times over. It started out as a wood truck needed. And it went from there. 1995 is a long time ago.
Are you putting 2 in right away? So you are going for sure? I have one laying in the back where its been for the last year. I have no antenna for it and did not need it the past 4 trips. I may just install it so I can hear the psycho babble. If takes away from my meditation and disrupts my chain...
That broken alternator bolt seems to be going around. I had a friend try to get the broken bolt out and he broke a piece off the cylinder head. He had to get a bracket made to use as an attaching place. I will post pictures when I see it. He paid $170. to have it fixed on the road when it broke...
I think it is just odd junk. No 1/4" nut in that area. And it is chrome from vibrating. You can do a double flare and replace a section of the line on the transmission. Report back.
Done some more work to the M1008 cab that is on the cab cart. Put new rocker and cab corners in. I also cut out that bracket on the passengers side floor. That was nothing but a rust haven. I think it was designed and never used just so it could rust the floors out on the truck. I also cut the...
