Good to know. A buddy of mine said there was alot of stuff at dix waiting to be sold but I didnt realize it was that much. With any luck they will do a big load at once and prices will be reasonable.
Its the nature of the beast. Thats why the trucks have ABS now if you slam the brakes the drivetrain can drag the engine down. Part of it is the torque converter takes time to unlock. There are a few posts about this.
Here in CT there is a minimum of 45mph on the highway. Legally as long as you are 45 or over there's nothing anyone can say. Many many times I have seen little old ladies cruising along at 45. Personally I think if you can't do at least 55 you are an accident waiting to happen. Thru no fault of...
I had a Cummins 250 that ran like that low power smoke and you could hear the miss it would send backpressure into the intake stack. One of the rocker arms had slipped off. I thought it was very strange but if it can happen once then it can happen again.

If it's the expello valve on the bottom leaking it will happen again. The valve moves downward to vent moisture and then gets stuck and air pressure coming from the trucks compressor just dumps out the valve. The air in your tanks will last till it runs out since there are check valves on the...
So you are driving the truck with all the brakes caged? You are lucky to be able to stop with the service brakes they only work with pressure in the tanks. If you lost pressure you would have no brakes. If it were me I would have a professional fix it right. You are playing with fire.
The 400 hz units are good for parts to fix up a 60hz same kW rated model. Engine is usually the same as are panels, fuel tank, switches and most gauges. The regulator is different as is the gen head though.
Reselling the stuff, recently it seems like there are more "preppers" who are of the opinion the mil trucks are indesctructable and will get them thru anything. Plus you have alot of publicity lately with GL being on mainstream news last year and the truck sales halt had publicity also...
Went to the Nutmeg hamfest thus morning. When I was younger I remember it being huge. Not anymore unfortunately. Got a nice wood cabinet Zenith shortwave radio with the eye tuning tube. Not military but still neat. Not too much military stuff there.
One of those or at least a similar Oshkosh model sold out of NY a few months ago. I was bidding on it for a while but it went for a whole lot more than I wanted to spend on it. It did have the snowblower attachment and the separate plow set with it and looked to be in good condition. I think it...
I cannot believe doing that would be legal under the gov contract. Years ago friends of gov employees or lawmakers would end up with sweetheart deals. Basically great stuff for next to nothing. Taxpayers and other bidders got fed up and laws were created regulating how surplus property could be...
I bought some stuff from ironplanet in the spring the items were just as described the process was easy no trouble with using my CT tax id number in NJ. GL will not let me use my tax number with them in NJ.
I thought there were laws in place to prevent such a situation. So no one gets the golden deal. Everything has to be public auctioned to the highest bidder per gov contract specs. I could see ironplanet linking the gov auctions for construction type equipment to the search in their civilian...
If after sitting for 20 minutes the oil level is correct on the dipstick then it's right. Could some oil have spilled somewhere? A little oil could be leaking thru the turbo. Check the coolant level and take it out for a good run, really warm it up. Maybe it will correct itself.
