I have backed up with no load in low range with no issues. The issue lies with heavy footing the gas in low reverse or in low reverse under load. If you want to pull something in low you are fine backing up to it to load or hook up.
I have an exciter I am looking to see if its compatable with a mep-004a gen and if not then what is it compatable with. The part is 30554-70-1367 it is a 60hz exciter regulator box. I looked at the parts tms for the mep 004a 005a and 006a gens the exciters all start with 30554 but have slightly...
I have had a bunch of trucks that I replaced fuel lines and lift pumps on. The line coming off the large filter in the drivers wheel well area seems to rub thru often. I have seen the large filter element pretty gunked up before. I have a decent supply of misc hoses and lines I usually just use...
If you leave something on and they are stone dead and you dont have a good 24 volt charger then yes. If they are charged and you are just maintaining them then its fine to trickle charge them at 24 volt thru the slave port.
Don't let the repair scare you it's not that bad especially if you can do it yourself. I have the sleeve tool kit here in CT you can borrow it as long as you bring it back. It's 200 bucks for the cylinder and sleeve maybe another 300 bucks for gaskets. 200 for new fluids and whatever you pay to...
If you have valve damage on that cylinder you may hear a pulse from backpressure coming up the intake stack. A diesel shop has test equipment that will give you an exact diagnosis pretty quick. It may be worth the few bucks taking it to your local Cummins dealer and get their opinion prior to...
Starting fluid is a known culprit of ring damage. Do you hear a pulse or popping coming from the intake stack? If so then it's def combustion and you will need to pull the head and take a look. You will probably see ring pieces melted onto the piston top. A cylinder and sleeve kit with am upper...
Hard to tell from the vid. It is possible there was some water in there that's burning off. It's possible you are loosing coolant and it's boiling off. Does the oil show any foam? That blowby is not right either way it looks like combustion going into the crankcase. How was the temp?
The governor tells the compressor unloader to open when it reaches the proper max pressure. If you have nothing chances are the unloader is stuck somehow or you have a broken feed line. Follow the compressor output.
Check to see if air is blowing out the bottom of your air dryer. If so insert finger and push up. Sometimes the unloader section of the air dryer gets hung up. Rebuild kits are available for around 40 bucks. You can get the head off without taking the whole compressor off. 95 percent of the time...
The red should feed air into the tanks front or back. There are no check valves on the red front or back if the line comes off before you close the valve behind the gladhand the air will escape.
