Tread is NDCC not NDT. Non directional cross country. Tire manufacturing requires expensive dies. And minimum run quantities to make the run worthwhile. This size is available domestically new.
Just twist the ABC phase wires together and connect to your 120 volt generator hot, connect the white wire to 120 volt generator neutral. All the 120 volt shelter devices will power up except for any 3 phase units.
Does not sound like classic M37 vapor lock but check that anyway. Make sure fuel line is routed away from exhaust manifold. These trucks will do this but typically after a long hot run. Next culprit might be Chinese coil. If it's chrome it's crap.

They were used on the DUKW too. Like you said, to get the track correct. They look just like the modern ones you see for sale for pickups, only bigger. I think they are 1.5" thk. They use Budd cap nuts. No hub stud change required. PM if you end up needing a set for your CCKW.

There are some pics of CCKWs with them while still in service. I think this was a mobility experiment, they never came from GMC with singles. The wheels are not in any way unsafe. The painful part of running them is the expense of new tires. 20 years ago, you could use Goat tires as...
Good looking shelter. What is it's designation?
There is a big 'ol bracket that goes on the floor of the HMMWV to hold the S250 and retains it. Also extends out the tailgate so you have a porch.
