Amazingly enough our so called 'Mog expert still hasn't managed to answer the original question or do anything except use Google to get specs on the trucks. Real enlightening. I would have thought someone that knows everything about both trucks and offer his opinion that a 'Mog is better hands...
Not knowing the exact area I'm not sure how many members we have that are close enough to help in person. Lots or moral support though.
Local heavy wrecker company? Local backhoe? Chain fall and cables to do a recovery? Shovel? 15 tons of cat litter? Okay the last one was just me...
It does change after a couple of days.
It may not cover everything but the color changes slightly. When fresh it looks wrong and after a couple of days it sort of changes into a more CARC like color.
I would say I'm glad it wasn't only me but it is such a pain in the butt and I've done it twice now.......sorry for your luck.
To the OP, although it would be as fun you may want to give a little bit more thought to safety trying to drive a truck home. Have an accident and I'm guessing one...
Glad hand with air chuck available at any truck stop store.
Charge the batteries before trying to start the truck. A truck alternator won't charge 4 dead batteries without releasing the magic smoke. (Done it twice now...)
Looking at your truck it might be a good idea to have it hauled home...
You will want a 15 or 20A fuse on the input side of converter inline and as close to the battery where you acquire your 24VDC feed. Then a 30A on the output as close to the converter as possible.
This minimizes the change of a short to ground in the wiring releasing magic smoke.
