70 is easy in the 4speed truck, I own 4 of them...do you want to go that fast in this truck? No....not really, they are all over the road. This truck is very happy at 60-65mph all day. I drive them daily....
6.5 requires the trans comes out....take it to any good shop, even a good transmission shop.
the seal is quite simple to install after the trans comes out.
I drop motors in and out monthly...power packs complete with motor, transmission and Tcase...NA and turbo by myself no issues. Easier out then in...just remember, going in...the motor is at an angle, so you can't go straight in.
its actually a bit easier with the entire pack assembled as...
The 242 had the vampire issue...the blue band on the inlet and outlet tube are the new type and fixed the issue.
your wire is your Tcase lock lamp switch...you need the name and harness to make it work.
Why would you want 2:73?
maybe better off the line, but lower top end, 2:56 is the best
for lighter trucks, you go with the higher ratio for heavier trucks but lose
top end speeds
A GPC and a TSU are completely different parts, a GPC in a truck with an S3 will get a flashing wait lamp, and that's it, the glowplugs don't energize....but then again, I've never metered them in this scenario. The flashing wait lamp is fault because the box doesn't see the TSU.
