I used the Napa filter in your pic when I replaced mine but the filter that came out was the same size as the Napa but the hole was much bigger in the Napa filter. The big hole creates a small problem but you can make it work.
I've hauled a small crane (16,000#) on a dual tandem gooseneck with my Dodge 2500 Cummins. Load placement is the key.
I would never recomend hauling these type loads on a public forum though because you've got to know what you're doing when you get above 10,000# behind a single wheeled truck.
The only place I've ever seen it is in the woods and at sawmills. Alot of farmers use it around here for sideboards for their grain trucks and such. Some people also use the root to make some sort of tea.
The absolute best stuff for bows is sasafras (sp?). That stuff will last for years on something that isn't in contact with the ground. All the farmers around here use it for sideboards and such on grain trucks.
Like barrman said, depends on how nice you want it. If you want everything to be nice and smooth it's going to take a while with sanding, wire brush, or stripper. CARC is some of the toughest paint to remove I've ever delt with and most everything has multiple coats to remove.
Sometimes carnac has trouble with his crystal ball if the truck has been out of Gov. hands for a long time. If anybody knows it's David Doyle. He's forgot more about these trucks than most will ever know.
I am of the feeling that it's your truck, you paid for it, do whatever you want with it. I would ask you to think long and hard about bobbing this truck if it turns out to be as rare as it could be though.
I'm sure somebody would trade you for a more common truck to bob if you want to go that...
This is true. There was a local FD that got in two m715s from the Gov. that needed some work. They had a guy that fixed one of them up and gave him the other one for payment with no paperwork. To make a long story short, something came up and the m715 they gave to the guy was still on the books...
Sounds like a good deal but the smoke issue has me a little concerned. Remember that after a welder looses all it's smoke it won't work anymore .
Sounds like you have a mess. We wear uniforms at work and the uniform company washes them in some sort of industrial process. They can remove grease, ink, and paint but if you wipe silicon off your finger onto your pants that stuff will still be there when the pants wear out. It's some tough...
You don't have to have a machine to mount one piece rims. They are easier to mount/dismount than the stock rims IMO. All you need is a couple of tire spoons. They are hard to get the bead to seat sometimes but there are tricks to that too but won't say too much about it because some people will...
