I'm going to say truck one is a "D" engine and truck two is a "C" engine but this has nothing to do with the turbo. The reason I say this is because truck one has the later model Flame heater controls.
Take a Cummins, Detroit, Cat, etc. and add a FDC off of a multifuel. Then go get you a tank full of unleaded. Please report here the results.
If you do this test you will find out that with the FDC installed it won't change a thing. Oh they will run but it could be for the last time if you run...
Everybody on here ( but one person ) agrees that you can still run anything you want with the FDC bypassed. I wouldn't worry too much about it too much other than sometimes with the FDC connected you can get a leak and get fuel in the oil.
Talk to Wreckerman. He's been offering to haul trucks for people out of Redstone.
I'm going next week to pick mine up. I can give it a look if you would like.
There were a bunch of truck that sold in KY today that was in event 6***. All events starting with 6 are scrap sales but the trucks look like good trucks. I wonder if they will supply a sf97?
Sorry, I have to say.nopics
Sounds like you've got one heck of a hoist under there. I belive you'll overload the truck long before the hoist gives out.
How fast is the electric pump? All I've seen were awfully slow.
I agree that the people moving them should have done better but this falls in GL's lap. They hired the movers and they should have made sure they didn't damage them.
They must have stacked them up on tailers to tear them up that bad. That would be the only reason I could think of that they...
When you do a search it will bring up a thread by Rolling_Eudaimonia. In the thread you will find that his theory of the FDC was shot down there by the people in the know here at SS.
Here we go again.
Better keep the popcorn comming!
All the pyro gauges I've seen don't require any electical conection to work. Only electrical is for the gauge light and that can be fixed by a 24V bulb , resistor, or if you have two gauges there are some that say you can wire two 12V bulbs in series on 24V.
54reo, Do you have before and after pics? Stuff like this really makes my blood boil . You should atleast recieve the trailer in the same condition as in the pics. Knowing GL they won't give you any satisfaction because of it.
Well if they flame you I'll sit there and burn with you because I agree.
Rubicon, based on your post if I was you I'd get my first truck from a private sale. Given your limited experence with diesels and large trucks you're going to need to buy from someone that can get you started in the...
They used to give me trouble with faxed copies but the last two I sent in ( within the last month) were faxed and were accepted. I think it depends who is handling your paperwork and it does seem like they've loosened up a little on revisions. Maybe it's just because I've sent in so many lately...
