Save 2 shirts for me guys. 1 L and 1 XL. Can't wait to see ya'll. I know I could flip a burger with my new FMTV Wrecker you fine tax payer's purchased for me to use on National Guard time.
I would almost agree to airlines crossed but the truck rolls backwards fine and the OP hears a solid clunk when shifting between a forward gear and reverse with the truck sitting still. He also has had success with the sprag engaging correctly in reverse gear. I just think there are some...
Do a search for ¨inner axle seal replacement¨ and you'll find a nice FAQ and picture thread showing how to tear down to the level that you need to accomplish your goal. You'll likely have to tear down both sides at the same time so that you can push a rod from the unbroken side to the broken...
Helped a friend install an inner axle seal on the passenger side of an M923. It's just like a deuce with the exception of air brakes and everything being a good bit heavier.
I agree with the above as the slave receptacle on these trucks hook to the battery cables at the source. If you can slave it off, that rules out the battery cables but does not rule out the battery connections themselves. They should be clean and tight. I've got a 5 ton in my front yard with...
Awesome rig. My truck is also on 11's and I'll take it out for a spin with my GPS and see what the rpm's are on mine. I don't think the M275 had different axles but I agree that the rpm reading's you've observed seem a little low.
Cool score. I've tried to sell mine in the past and wasn't even offered that much. Mine has new batteries (Hawker AGM's) and new tires (Firestone T-831s dualed in the back), cargo cover in great shape and has been to 3 of the last 4 GA Rallies which is 180 miles one way for me. Hope you have...
While they are not cheap, they seem to last a long time and these cost less than the last ones. Not far cheaper than what you are guessing but about $410 a piece after tax, $820 out the door but if they last another 10 year's and provide piece of mind that the truck will start, I'm fine with that.
Put in a new set of Hawker 6TAGM batteries. The old one's were 10 years old and the motor was cranking slowly in cold weather. They have been recharged a time or two. Today they showed 12.1 and 11.6 volts upon removal and I'm sure they would still start the truck but they were starting to...
It came in handy for pulling out my boy's school bus this morning. We've gotten quite a bit of rain recently. My wife had to pull it out this evening while I was still at work but she used my buddies M923A1 that's been hanging out over here since it's an auto trans.
Should work fine so long as you have a wireless router. I've got one and I love it. I can access the internet with no cables from anywhere in my house and back yard. I wonder who would be the first to show their tail on the feed.
I mostly drink Natural Light, not much of the harder stuff but I have to question, do they even sell Crown in a gallon bottle? If so, that'd be an expensive gallon. I've got the intent and will bring a gallon or so of ¨Military Special¨. They have two versions on base and the younger Marines...
Need to RSVP, I will be there along with my wife and 2 boys. Let me know if I need to bring something, we're not picky eaters by any stretch. I'd prefer to bring something that doesn't need refrigeration as it's about a 3 hour ride one way.
Is there anyone going to Zout's cookout that will be going near TimNTrucks place? I plan to be there but I have a lightbar that needs to go to Louisiana.
I guess I should also add that I believe ¨our Resident Deuce Doctor¨ could probably do a better job so if you see my truck at the GA Rally, give me an A for effort. Clinto pointed out the trouble spots on my cab last year and it wasn't pretty. He about pushed the cowl panel to the floorboard...
I plan to apply ¨Phoscote¨ to every surface before painting. It's sort of like a clearcoat that bonds tightly to the surface and allows no chance for moisture or air to penetrate the metal. Once applied, the sheetmetal should outlast the drivetrain even after a repower when needed. I've...
The cabs look about the same and it should be a pretty easy swap. I see some minor differences between the two and have confirmed with Clinto and PaTracy my concerns. It looks like I'll have to beat a spot welded plate off of the hole for the clutch pedal, cut out the plug installed where the...
I have T-831 Firestones on my truck. I'm happy with 90 in the front and 50 in the rear's in dual configuration. I've been told by a friend who followed me 180 miles each way to a GA Rally that I should consider lowering the rear tire pressure as the outer lugs were not touching the pavement at...
I'm only speculating. I got a very nice one for $360 after fees recently. It was an 05 model M1102 and the tires didn't even have the casting flashes worn off the tires. They may be breaking them up into smaller lots to try and drive the price up.
