It seems like I am little late to the party, but Welcome to the Outfit! Download the owners manual and all the others too for your new-to-you truck. The link is below. Yeah, I know these few thousand pages of writing will put you to sleep in your recliner - but knowing the terminology will...

Mighty Fine!!
Definitely looking awful good...
Oh, and by the way that wheel dolly sure is a nice tool to have. In particularly when you have a nice concrete floor to work on.

Wow!
Nice work on the testing and documentation too
Clorox has generally been one of my favorite cleaners for almost any application.
Nice to see that it came out on top!

Well, here goes. The M1009 is a Chevy Blazer. At least if something goes wrong it won't cost you an arm and a leg to have it hauled to the local Chevrolet Dealership. Many more people know how to work on these than a "Hummmer" for example. All going in your favor so...

Well, I can't help but wonder if you couldn't have found a truck a little further away from you up there in Alaska... That is going to be a drive for sure and you may as well pay for a second seat on the airplane to get you and some tools down to the truck. Or maybe you are planning to drive...

Wow. That's the voice of experience. Especially since everything on a generator is fighting vibration. The "zip side" easily gives you an extra eighth of in inch of "rub resistance" safety margin.
Thanks for sharing that @Guyfang

Nice to know. Back in the day, we used 80/90 in all the gearboxes on Deuces, 5-Tons, the Internationals, GMC's, Dodges and to be completely honest - anything else that we had that needed gear oil. I'm sure that was a plan to simplify the lube orders. Three oils covered everything that way...

What if...
Wonder if you could use the old canister filter housings to recirculate and clean your fuel? Maybe an intake line on the bottom of the fuel tank and a return that pours the fuel back into the tank. With an electric pump to do the cycling, it could be any voltage - guessing that...

Generally 80w90 Gear Oil - and like @HDN mentioned - be sure to be sure that it is good for use with bronze / brass gears syncro's.
Maybe up north where you are a lighter weight oil in those gearboxes are required as mentioned by @ToddJK ?

Welcome to the Outfit!
We've got pictures of things being fixed and new guys who recently got themselves a "new" piece of green hardware. All sorted somewhat by time. And there are TM's you could rummage for pictures - so you can search for trucks by their "M Number"
Again, Welcome to the...

Best that I have to offer is a smile for your handle because a Chevy is my preferred choice of Non-MV transportation.
And maybe a Welcome to the Outfit!
Since you are one of the new guys, be sure to make use of the TM's Technical Manuals posted here. The "Dash 10" (-10) is the operator's...

You might even consider jacking up the front wheels to keep from stressing the system unnecessarily.
And yes, believe it or not bleeding the power steering system is really that simple.
.
Glad you found the problem!
It is amazing how today's vehicles are held together with bubblegum and bailing wire. Meaning plastic that lasts for a few years, then deteriorates into nothing.

Couple of pieces of recent information:
You want the Trico 33-122 "Classic" wiper blades
and use them with Anco 4101 adjustable wiper arms
