    CUCV Steering wheel

I would bet you "dollars to donuts" that it was replaced at some point. I've never seen that wheel in any CUCV before.

M35a2 air filter element: commercial part #?

One thing you need to consider. The military filter can be washed and reused again and again. Commercial filters cannot.

    Another Head Gasket

There are just some engines that are going to leak some oil no matter what you do. Detroit Diesels actually had a specific amount of oil leakage built into the engine ! Crazy right ?! Cummins also leaked in several places. When we inspected the busses they where always steam cleaned before the...

    My new deuce build "FIONA"

    M35A2 Starter Relay Relocation

Before you go and buy a new starter, just replace the relay. Any good 24 volt relay will work that can carry the load. Just got to eBay and type in "heavy duty 24 volt relay" and you will have tons of places to buy one from. If your starter doesn't work after that, there are still several...

I removed mine to access the water jacket plug for my coolant heater. I installed the relay here in picture two on the frame rail (painted green) .

    Winch and Bumper Project

Well I went with just one side braced, and I'm glad I did !!! It was a pain to get in there. I could only imagine what it would have been like with both sides enclosed !!! I just need to clean-up the bolts a bit and then paint everything OD green and it's done ! Now I can push anything off the...

Deuce Battery Hold Down for Group 31 Batteries

Hey Valance. A proper welding table is whatever you have on hand ! A table "does not make a "welder" . A welder makes a table a welding table.

multifuel fuel pump hydraulic head removel

Since the red mark is when the piston is at top dead center it naturally wants to move ahead due to the spring pressure. Since there isn't a solid coupling from the engine (the advance unit is controlled by three springs) the piston spring can and will push the cam downward. That is why the TM...

    Winch and Bumper Project

Mowed some of the yard today and then the mowers transmission went "tits up" on me !!! Now I have to fix that stupid thing !!! Beautiful weather and I have to fix the lawn mower !!!! They say it is going to rain again next week now too. Well we had our week of summer here in the great Northwest...

    Winch and Bumper Project

That's right. You need to get that rig up and running good if we are to make it to Alaska next summer !

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

There is nothing wrong in using a "speedi-sleeve" . It has been a normal fix for decades and a permanent one at that. Just keep running your old transfer-case now that the leak has stopped.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

You usually have what ? Chrome-moly rings ? I've never heard of that. Usually, (as in the normal) rings are cast iron unless specified by the customer since they are so expensive. Of course they are making rings form some crazy stuff nowadays and chrome-moly is a "has been" on the race circuit.

    My new deuce build "FIONA"

Good job ! That's good to know about the Hemi Dart radiator. Where did you buy the radiator from? Summit ?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Those are some beautiful looking tires ! I totally agree with you about the 395's. They make the deuce look like a Tonka truck or in plain words a "Toy" ! But those G177's just look mean !
