    M1009 Transmission Barfed from Dipstick

The vent has a "flange" on the end and is inserted into the case before the pump housing is installed. It should have a length of tubing on it going up to the firewall. That is why it is facing up. Since the tube must have fallen off and is probably lost that left the vent tube sticking up...

    bobbed air ride crew Deuce

You should give us some more up close pictures of the mounting. That is a very slick look, just like factory !

Dually conversion done simple on the cheap.

The proper dually axle for the CUCV is a Dana 70HD. That axle commands a pretty penny in todays market since all the hardcore 4X4 guys want them. I actually had a guy come up to me at the gas station and ask to buy my rear differential for $1200.00 ! I gave him the "are you crazy look" and said...

    Lockouts, hubs and where?

Yes, with the small air-hose you would not get a large volume of air and the vent can handle that easily.

    M1009 Transmission Barfed from Dipstick

I got your PM cucvrus. I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been dealing with Kidney stones this last two weeks and will be going into surgery this Friday to remove one that is blocking my left kidney. Now about this transmission issue. TH400's normally do "not" blow fluid out the...

    Supplemental Electric Air Compressor

Having worked on these (our mini buses used them for the air bags) I can say I'm pretty sure you won't like the performance out of them. They are great little pumps, and far superior to anything on the market for electric air compressors. In fact I added one to my CUCV but their output and speed...

Anyone interested in heavier duty hydraulic head button retaining clips?

That's good news David. I've finished cleaning up my 6 injection pumps and found enough good parts from the six to make 3 good pumps. I got my rebuild parts from AMBAC and started today with the "booster" pumps. Hopefully by the time I'm assembling the Hydraulic Heads the clips will be done !

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

If you research it a little more you will see they did use this style up to the 1970's.

    M1102 soft top refurbish

Is this the "vinyl" type of cover ? If so what kind of paint did you use ? I have a "Tan" colored top for my deuce but I want the 1980's "Camo" look and need a paint that will stick to the vinyl cover.

    NOS 4HN batteries

I am aware this is an old post, but it brings up an important point. If you do find a screaming deal then you can let people know by PMing them (private message) . Then they well tell others who will tell others and so on. I've done this on several deals I've come across and others have let me...

Air pressure bleeder sounds like someone is using an air nailer in my cab?

Buy a vented plug. One that has a filter on the end. You need the flow of air so don't use one with a small orifice.

Rear piston appears slightly melted. What to do about it?

That looks pretty slick ! I would install it to the water pump with a 1/2" hose. That would allow the coolant to flow completely out of the head instead of being forced down and into the intake manifold. There still would be enough flow for the manifold and the lower block I'm sure to prevent...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

That fuel pump looks like an old 1960's to 1970's Chevrolet. I always like that style.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I totally agree with you ! My wife finally bought me a cheap phone that I only use when I'm going to the store and that is so she can call and remind me what to buy. I like the front steering ram you have. What kind of steering system are you using ?

Usually the problem with turn signal lights is the socket goes bad.
