If your hubs are quiet, just put it all back like it was. It is very easy to mark how much the bearing nut was tightened and re- tighten it to the same clocking. You can do this with your fingers believe it or not.
Not saying that. Looking at the auction results, GP has sold 23 M1079s and 2 M1079A1s as of this date. That plus a few that GL sold is it other than a handful sold on GSA. That is all that is out there to pick from. Uncle probably bought 1000's of these and all will eventually be sold.
Welcome. I would do a search on past auction results for M1079 and M1079A1 on Govplanet. They have sold 90% of the FMTVs and you will get an idea what is out there and the astronomical prices the vans bring.
The engine and powertrain are easy to find parts for. The problem with the old wreckers is that every single cylinder packing and hose needs replacement.
There's an exhaust leak and it appears to hesitate when you open the throttle. It is hitting on all 6. When you drive it, it should accelerate briskly to 2600 rpm and move right on out.
Looks like someone took a 1992 1 ton 4x4 dually cab and chassis and grafted a M886 body on to it. Firewall, front and rear axles gives this away. Unfortunately, the ambulance body is beyond economic repair.

The aliphatic polyurethanes have huge amounts of silica flattener in them (70% by volume) and that is where the roughness comes from. Nothing to do with "overspray". The waterborne CARCs are smooth.
