I plan on installing two 24volt fans I bought this summer. It will be connected into my Fording system also. Your right about the fan. All your doing is wasting power and fuel. Usually I wouldn't remove a good fan and I like "simple" over "complicated" any day, but our fans have a tendency to...
Yes and no. It depends on the drill bit your using. If it has an aggressive angle it will cut chips or strips. If it is a shallower angle bit it will make powder. When drilling out bronze you usually use a 20 degree or less bit angle for the same reasons. You want smaller size shavings. If you...
I had another tank install last year, but are you asking about this air-tank installation ? No, this is the only one now. But I have quite a few other projects I've added to my deuce.
Lights, lots of lights. Hard top installation. Bumper extension and winch, fording unit. Air-dryer, driveline...
Actually most engines over 350 cid pull over 400 amps when starting. That is 400 amps NOW . So if your cables are not big enough to handle the load then you will have problems. Having said that your 1/0 cable should be fine as long as it's not over 4 ft long. If it gets to long then you start to...
I installed the rear air tank I bought last year today. I installed it behind the last differential and the tow bar I installed. It's a 12" diameter by 26" long stainless steel tank I got off eBay. I plan on running the trailer brakes and rear external air line from it. I already ordered the...
OK I see what you mean. I didn't realize this unit had this style of injection system. This is not a high pressure injection pump system. I thought it was a newer engine. If you have crude past the filters and it is lodged in the cylinder head then you will have to remove the fuel inlet lines...
The injector pump doesn't have a screen, but there is a filter just before the pump. The injectors can sometimes have a small screen on them though. If you have some small particles at the pump now then you should take the fuel lines off and blow them out. Cleaner won't really help much once the...
Cattlerepairman your picture does not come up. Remember your suppose to post all picture here just for those reasons.
As far as the air bubbles go, where did the shop find these bubbles at ? At the injector ? At the pump ? It could be as simple as a loose line or as complex as cattlerepairman...
There is one way to check without using the VIN numbers. Look at the engine data plate, then check the front and rear differentials data plates. Also the transfer-case and transmission. If all the dates match then you know. More then likely the engine and transmission have been changed out, but...
My 1968 Loadstar has the same switch that lock-outs the front brakes. The whole reasoning behind it was that you could maintain control of the truck in an emergency braking situation with the front wheels still turning. They assumed the rear brakes where enough to stop the truck. They were right...
Honda, do you have a winch on this truck ? Or does your Razor have a good winch on it ? You might consider moving the truck down to a spot with more access. That is if you have enough "snatch blocks" and cable and chains. If you do have a winch you can use a differential with a different gear...
You never mentioned what kind of CUCV you have. Is this a truck (M1008 ) or the Blazer (M1009) ? What is the size of your rig if it's a truck. Is it a 14 bolt rear ? Without knowing what you have it's pretty hard to give advice.
That kind of blows the wind out of the sails of those who think the deuce brakes are crap. I know the trailer brakes have a lot to do also but in an emergency your still left with the trucks brakes alone and that is taken into account by the engineers.
Well I'm a busted up old fart and my back (which has a nice titanium rod in it ) cannot take the strain anymore. Neither can my knees. One has already been replaced and the other needs replacing. I can drag the tire though, and when needed the pry bar does the rest.
Now if you added a large...
My fingers lost their calibration years ago due to getting hammered and crushed and generally abused after 4 decades of working on heavy equipment. Cortisone injections keep them working though. In fact cortisone injections is about the only thing keeping me moving these days.
