That's a pretty slick idea, but you must be a strong young man to be able to lift up that tire . I see you just release the pin and let it drop but you have to stand up the tire and bolt it to the carrier then lift it up for it to be in it's stowed position. That's why I did the under the...
If you go to DOT 3 fluid then you must replace all the rubber seals otherwise you get this problem with the seals. The rubber components absorb the silicone from the DOT 5 fluid. Then when you go to the Alcohol based DOT 3 fluid it reacts with the silicone in the rubber. Unless the seals are...
That's a beautiful vise you picked up Valence ! In my opinion "Wilton" makes the best enclosed shaft vise on the market today. Of course you pay for it !
You have to be careful shortening the rear driveline. It will not work correctly if you off-road this truck unless you go with double cardan joints (U-joints) . The driveline angle is to great when shortened and the differentials really articulate back there !
Actually I post things here to help others do the job themselves. There are just some things due to the fact most people cannot afford an alignment machine or frame checker that it is just easier and better for the pros to do. I take my own vehicles to the alignment shop and I'm a Master...
On a old single circuit brake system your correct, but on the 1987 and newer Air-Force deuces with the dual brake system it is very feasible. I've been thinking about converting my front brakes to calipers for awhile now and all I would need is to increase the boost pressure from the air-pack ...

Posts #5, 19, 22 and a bunch on the other post about frames. Really you do get all freaked out about this. Also where did the OP say he fixed the problem ? Post # 28 says he "narrowed it down" not fixed it. I also said change the springs as did cucvrus . I didn't say anything about taking it to...
When I went with the heavy duty rear shackles they lowered the rear end over 1" . You would think that is nothing and they actually warn you this will happen but I went ahead with them. Now when the truck is on the driveway you can see the difference plainly. I does bother me a little, that is...
The 1977 350 engine had much more power and compression them the later 1986 454 engine due to all the emissions crap they put on it. What a waste of a great engine !
