    Poor Man's Cargo Bows

Good trick ! Though you should replace it with the original Oak as soon as possible as I don't know how much that bow would support.

Wheel Cylinder Rebuild Issues, Re-use Outer Seals

I had the opportunity to go work for Delta airlines back in the late 1980's. They said they would retrain me as long as I committed to work there for at least 6 years. I had to sign a contract and everything. I didn't want to commit to a job that I was unsure about. Six years is a pretty good...

Mep002a trouble starting runs good need help

It's funny. The ancient Egyptians built there great monuments using water as a level 5000 years ago, and it still is relevant today ! The modern diesel manufactures took a note from mechanics (like Guyfang) on indirectly testing compression by this method. This way they could adjust performance...

    letssleds M-135 Project

You won't be able to put the fuel tank on the inside of the frame rail. But you can buy a 50 or even 100 gallon fuel tank with built in steps. Semi-trucks all have them.

    1952 ReoM35 gasser electrical question

The problem with testing a condenser with just an analog meter is you cannot test the charge. You need an actual condenser tester. The last time I priced one out they where over $300.00 . The best thing to do is just replace it with a known good one.

Looks real good ! That photo-shop is scary stuff !

    letssleds M-135 Project

Is that a "photo shop" or is that real ? If it's real why didn't they just use one solid piece for the roof ?

Temporary Fix For Leaky Brake Line

    1952 ReoM35 gasser electrical question

You can download almost all the TM's (manuals) here on this site. They don't have the gas engine service manual but they have everything else.

    starter woes

I think it's my fault. Back a few days I gave him a warning about using foam filled tires on the road, but then I gave him a pep talk to encourage him. Well he responded rather negatively to my and a few others comments. I was having an extremely bad pain night that day and fired back (I know I...

Mep002a trouble starting runs good need help

That's one of the tricks we use to test our diesel engines. Though our engines already come with quick-connects to the valve covers. In fact several engine manufactures have pressure sensors mounted there to monitor the engines performance. Along with manifold sensors (intake and exhaust) and...

Wheel Cylinder Rebuild Issues, Re-use Outer Seals

An air-craft mechanic. Now that is cool ! I've worked with several guys who left the air industry back in the 1980's to work on our busses. They tell stories of how strict the FAA is about every little detail . Do you get to work on Turbines much ?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I know, my family has been in construction for several generations, but I still don't like them. Especially on something that is suppose to be exposed for it's beauty.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Well I went down to Home Depot today and they do not carry Red Oak. The only hard wood they do carry is White Oak. The problem with this Oak is it is made from smaller pieces glued together ! You can see the glue lines !

Replacing copper lines with DOT poly air-hose

When you compare the hoses you will see the only difference is the color. The specifications are all the same.

Replacing copper lines with DOT poly air-hose

Our fleet of busses have been using DOT approved poly hose for decades now as the main fuel and return lines. Never had a leak that I saw in 24 years there. This is the same hose as the air supply hose. It will say DOT approved on the hose. We had 500 foot reels of the stuff in the back supply...

Replacing copper lines with DOT poly air-hose

Here's my hose. I wrapped the PTFE hose with a heavy duty poly wrap just for extra protection.

Replacing copper lines with DOT poly air-hose

I used stainless steel PTFE hose for the first 5 feet. Since this was discussed in length before I thought everyone was on the same page.
