I would have mentioned it a few years ago when I started posting about using poly hose, but I ASSumed everyone knew about it. Working in the truck and heavy equipment industry this is a common conversion. I've just always replaced the fittings with new just to be sure there would be no problems...
Yep Cucvrus, it used to be if a bearing was made in China it was junk, now Timken and SKF and all the others are made in China with German machines. In fact I haven't found a bearing made in the U.S.A. for over a decade or more. I don't believe there are anymore manufacturers left here. I...
It should work just fine. It is the total amount of cranking amps that you need to be concerned about not how many batteries you have. Just take the 12 volt lead of one battery and the 24volt lead off the two batteries connected in series.
I love the Optima batteries ! The newer ones also eliminated the problem of the top "buss bar" corroding and then breaking under load. I still use the standard military batteries in my deuce since I got a good deal on them, but my CUCV uses the Optima.
The Cherry wood might not be the strongest choice, but it looks really nice ! There was another wood that is extremely strong and weather resistant someone mentioned recently. Does anyone remember ?

There is a thread in the regular deuce section about Glad-hand service air-hose lengths I've been following. A few days ago someone was talking about how the valves must be open to use the air and that they open opposite to what you would normally think they should. I remember dealing with them...
Is your radiator totally trashed ? Have you taken it to a good radiator repair shop and had them go over it ? I worked at a radiator shop is Phoenix AZ when I was going to trade school. That old fart could do miracles on radiators I thought were total basket cases. These radiators have good...
I would also check your modulator hose. If the modulator diaphragm gets torn it will suck transmission oil into the engine vacuum pump. Also the transfer-case could be the culprit, just remove the fill plug and check. The radiator cooler could also be bad. Since the transmission cooling pressure...
Sorry to hear that Ahab. :( I just finished reading your truck post Ahab. That would have been my dream truck ! I guess some dreams are not meant to be but there is always something else to take it's place. As I'm in my "elder" years I've been looking back at my choices in life. At one time I...
