Suggestions on hard top rear window seal.

That seal is harder then you think to get new. I finally got one from LMC truck parts. It still is not correct and now I need a larger piece of glass since the seal is smaller then the stock one. The good news is that is just a piece of flat glass. The bad news is finding the correct...

    Cab Heater Modification

I finally installed my auxiliary cab heater. I still need to install the bulkhead fittings and 90 degree heater fittings. I'm waiting on the fittings and 5/8" silicone hose. Since I was mounting it so close to the firewall I decided to put a screen on the air-intake (picture 1 ) . Since this was...

    flywheel housing studs

That's the difference between the Army and Marines. The Army has the money to do crazy things like that. In the Marines we would scrounge up something to replace the water pump or try and steal one from the Navy or Coast Guard down the street ! Adapt-Improvise-Overcome !

Need advice with parasitic battery drain

Good price on the kits. I'm a firm believer that if your going to open up your alternator you might as well replace the bearings and brushes and diode pack all at the same time.

    fumoto valve

You have a valid point there. Of course for the rest of the community that drive there trucks "sanely" and don't go crazy off-road the Fumoto valve is a great and handy idea.

Fuel injector Rebuilding/testing and TM and compression testing

Good work. It is always a very good idea to keep spare injectors for any diesel engine you own. I have two complete sets of NOS injectors for my deuce.

    The VTCS m756a2 Pipeline Truck

I've never heard of "yellow Locust" . Is that some East Coast wood ? Also how expensive is it ? and does it do well in damp raining conditions ? I need to replace all my wood on the troop seats and want something that will last and is strong.

    6.2 Broken Crankshaft Revisited.

The 6.2 engine is a good basic engine, not as good as the 6.5 but still good. Now if someone wanted to spend the money and have this engine "balanced" and "blueprinted" they would have a better engine but still not as good as say a Cummins. This topic is about the same as the deuce "Multifuel" ...

    fumoto valve

Our work has used these valves for over 10 years and no problems. I bought some for my Deuce, and during the next oil change will be installing them. That lever is almost impossible to open by accident. I say "almost" as you never know ! They are extremely well made valves.

Is a Dana 80 strong enough?

That's why a Dana 110 would work but not a Dana 80 which has a Maximum GVWR of 10,000 to 11,000 Ibs.

    flywheel housing studs

My 1988 Hercules does not have the storage boss either.

Is a Dana 80 strong enough?

I totally agree. The Dana 80 is only rated for 1 ton trucks, not a 2.5 ton truck.

Deuce with Cummins 6BT Info thread

That is a very good transmission.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

I believe most people here are aware, but it never hurts to remind them. :D

    6.2 Broken Crankshaft Revisited.

This whole thing about "lugging" a diesel engine causing a broken crankshaft is not true. Diesel's by their nature are made to Lug. The reason GM's 6.2L diesel engines had problems with the cranks was due to the Harmonic Balancer, the weird dual flywheel, and the Accessory Drive balancer going...

    6.2 Broken Crankshaft Revisited.

That's OK. Where all free to say what we want here as long as you don't say "This is the truth" if you don't have documentation to back it up. If you do that you WILL get called out on it. If you say "I have an opinion" that's fine and people can discuss it. We don't want this site becoming...

    6.2 Broken Crankshaft Revisited.

Fair is fair. For over the last 35 years now I've been a "ASE Certified Master Mechanic" working in the Heavy Truck and Bus industry. When I was younger I was in the Marines for 4 years in Tanks then in Motor Transport as a mechanic and company welder. I worked as a welder-machinist for 10...

    Diesel additives

Again I ask you, where is the documentation ? The anger I have is all this BAD information your spouting off ! I don't want others who don't know better to take this information as gospel. You can say the moon is made up of green cheese and ham but it doesn't make it so. Show use in writing all...

    6.2 Broken Crankshaft Revisited.

I know 1987 was not 50 years ago, I said as much and the EPA had a lot to do with the death of the 2 stroke diesel but not everything. It was market share that drove Detroit to make the series 50 engine. As far as your post about removing the injection lines goes, since the engine is fighting...
