The BatteryMINDer model 2012-AGM brought the 4 AGMs in my LMTV back from 3 volts. Took weeks to do all 4, but they are working great now. Northern Tool has 'em for $100.
Without a bed she should weigh in a little over 20,000, similar to newer 5 tons. Good luck with it. Looks like a '45 White open cab to me.
Looks like a M270 sitting next to it with the biggest stack of rotten roof trusses I have ever seen. Trailer is also worth looking at. If you get the 6...
Fits fine on my truck. You guys would greatly increase my enjoyment of this forum if we could leave the non-constructive comments for forums like "Pirate".
Try this justification: If your community has a mass casualty event, you will be able to assist. That"s the angle I went with when I got the M886 Dodge ambulance.
No fuse box on the HMMWV. You will have to disconnect circuits until the load goes away. I would start with disconnecting the sense wire at the alternator. Next, disconnect the connector from the light switch. If you still have draw, the protective contol box is suspect.
Parts for the big 6602 are readily available from old school dealers like White Owl and Sam Winer Motors. If the sheet metal on the truck is nice, I would be all over it, especially since gas is more reasonable now. The 6602 is a torque beast, and sounds incredible.
In a factory M38A1, there is about 1/4" under the fuel tank where some rubs strips are, before the bottom of the fuel tank well in the body. Under the well is, I guess, planet earth.
The 931 will not have a PTO, that would be a 932. On the FMTV, only winch equipped trucks will have a PTO. There is a member here in Socal that has a fleet of 900's in use commercially as water spreader trucks. In my opinion the rear bogie on a 900 series is twice as heavy duty as a MTV.
I would call Feltz Tire South at Red River Depot TX, they have ACRES of these tires at numerous yards around New Boston TX. 715-305-9993 is the phone number on the gate.
Where are our pictures? Here are some pics of the Wranglers I mentioned earlier in this thread. These are mounted on 2000 Chevy wheels which will not fit the 880 due the center hole not being large enough. These are 265-75-16 next to stock Wrangler 9.5-16.5.
Nice score, I had my eyes on those for a war pig build. Hopefully that one is not missing the trans controller. My 1078 was listed as a non-runner, all it needed was a slave start an some diesel in the dry tank. Good luck!
I have run into that issue as well. I used a thread chasing die in a socket on my impact wrench. Makes quick work of it. This die is different than a thread forming die, it has hex sides. Boy does it get hot after doing a few studs. Of course you need to lube with WD40 or something.
Wow, nice itinerary, need a co-driver? To get the 101 into the bed, find a tree (I know, Arizona) or an overhead structure and come-along it up in there. Or find a dune or embankment to back up against. Maybe a railyard will have a ramp.
