Just to add it is the plunger that moves up and down not the quill shaft. No big deal but the quill shaft is what rotates the plunger by way of the plunger drive gear. I believe the problem with trying to check plunger movement is so far no one has measured how far the movement is when the...
The truck is a parade queen and at this time I keep her clean on hard roads so I do not need the front axle engaged. I would love to do both front and rear axles with better ratios but for now I would like to do just the rear. I got hold of member Steve and asked if he would build me a rear but...
Myself I do not like to run older dated tires on the steering axle. On the 915A2 I bought new tires all round dated now at 2015 and the 1088 has newer all round and they are about ten years old even though that truck is a garage queen. Even my civilian trailers I get new after nine years.
Myself run flats were a good thing in a combat situation or you find yourself far from a good LZ. Running roads here in the US if I get a flat I am pulling over as soon as possible / good ground and change my tire. Would seem even with a run flat in the front it not going to be fun to drive very...
Yea I do not know about a fire under it. What we did to some equipment was just heat in coming air. Took news paper rolled it up like your going to swat the kids, light the end and place it close to air intake.
Myself I would just go to a auto parts store and buy a starting fluid stand in the door and give a quick shot right in the intake that is right there. Yes block water heaters are good and I also like magnetic oil pan heaters easy to put on and off. The other thing is what Trans. fluid you are...
What type of tag did you get? Must have gotten a weighted tag for every day use. My title is what they are calling branded with the words former military on it and a brown former military tag. Yes I am so called limited use and I do not drive them very often. If I do hook up the tractor and...
Just to get on the same page. The quill shaft / small gear thingy in the IP turns the plunger drive gear on the head. We talked about this last time we do not worry about where the four bolt advance window pointer is or the harmonic balancer is when we remove the head. We just line up the head...
Just to be clear you took the two screws out of the timing cover, some call it the shut down cover and you made sure the fuel control unit assembly was moving free. With motor off it should look like just about the 7 o'clock position and with your finger you can push it back to to about the 4 o'...
Got one bank of the LED's in and got lucky I used my old tombstones just had to shunt them. Think I will do the other outer bank and see how well lit the trailer is as I might get away with just two banks and leave the two inner banks alone. Four banks of LED's would be a operating room bright.
Guess I did something right because we got light. Some of the trailers I have have the old style ballast resistors and I guess I have some bad ones. Think I will rewire the fixtures for LED and get rid of those ballast resistors. My father would be proud so far.
If you have had time to look over the Trouble shooting manual let start off with the easy. Is your FDC bypassed? Yes we can get air in the system and it starts with the rubber line that is on the in tank pump. If you have some pressure at the bleed screw when you open it myself I do not put a...
